Feb. 18th, 2019 09:50 amAh, ToyFair. The time of year when I get completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff on display and flail about trying to find stuff I find interesting until someone (frequently Lori) swoops in and makes it idiot proof.
It almost couldn't come at a better time because I have been so thoroughly bored with toys lately. I still want them but I don't look at things currently available and think to myself that I must have them NOW, dammit. I mean, I do with Blaire but there's the eye issue so it's more like it's the version that should already exist that I want, and not the version that does currently exist. Did that make sense? I think so.
There's the DC Superhero Girls reboot which has prompted a small rant in my brain that I shall ( throw over here. )
I'm not sure how I feel about the reboot beyond Batgirl who is adorable and wants to steal my soul. Today's plans have shifted slightly, but I still think they'll involve playing catch-up with the animated part.
Funko has about 9 million releases coming and the only one I'm immediately ready to throw money at them for is Xena, though it's quite likely that I will require a Morticia and a Wednesday. The Jaws ones are amusing and I'm dying at Dawson's Creek getting the Funko treatment (and only Jen looks cute) and I believe Dark Phoenix is getting one. Kid!me will never not find it funny that any time Jean gets any screen time it's to push the Dark Phoenix saga (probably because 90's cartoon was all over Jean when Rogue and Storm were RIGHT THERE).
Pound Puppies! It's taking all my self control not to tag someone on FB who used to be super into them. I won't because I suspect that either everyone on the planet will when things are closer to them being released OR she's moved way beyond that and I would look like an ass. But they're adorable and I love them and I need them, thanks. Also, need the flutter ponies like yesterday. *grabby hands*
The Disney Princess comics minis are pretty dang cute and if I can find them without requiring a human sacrifice, I'm definitely interested. Also, the Legends line continues to woo me though I've never bitten (only because Magik came out in store once and I was broke and then she sold out and no, I am not over it) with Blink, Agent Carter, Hela, and always Loki.
Going to end here because my sinus headache is either napping finally or is about to come roaring back to life and in either case, I need to get to work on housework.
