Mar. 31st, 2019 10:35 amI finally used my Christmas gift cards from C at work to buy two more shelves for my room. I'm not sure this was the best idea I've ever had now that I've got them for a couple of reasons.
1) I really should have listened to myself and not gone with the ~fancier~ version like I did before because it just really did not work above my closets. Which meant I had to make alternate plans. Eventually I moved my Sailormoon poster and put one beneath my first shelf and the other in the vanity area but I haven't put anything on them because I'm not 100% sure the vanity one is going to work out.
2) Both arrived damaged. To be fair, I could only afford two of them if I went for the warehouse versions but I did choose the ones that said "like new." I had to superglue the fancier molding back onto both because neither amazon nor the manufacturer realizes that maybe, just maybe, the ends should be wrapped in fucking bubble wrap or at least the Styrofoam strips dolls use for various reasons.
I didn't manage to quite line up the second shelf with the first but I'm hoping that once I put my dolls on the shelf, I won't notice or care in a week or three because it's just a hair off.
Tomorrow is my work anniversary. Woo. It's also April 1st, but I'm hoping that won't affect my book nerd plans for the day. I'm hoping to scan my various extra SVH covers and then fill in some of the missing Common Knowledge stuff for them. But you never know when sites will go weird for April Fool's Day.
