I LIVE.
And I obsess and oversleep and stuff. But I do live. My week off has officially begun (well, it did yesterday) and while I don't have a lot of ground to cover yet, I do have some things to yammer on about.
1) A friend emailed me yesterday and this prompted me to go looking for the story I did for NaNoWriMo years ago. I never officially finished it, but I was really proud of what I did write. And I could've sworn that I'd emailed (possibly attached) it to someone. Um, no. No I did not. And that was like, three computers ago. So either half of it is gone (and one of those bits is the part I liked BEST) forever, or I have to find one of the nine million boxes we never unpacked that has the stack of CDs and then I have to go through them and find the needle in a haystack. I spent hours last night looking for that story and damn near cried when I realized that if I did email it, I didn't do it through my google account so it's gone, baby, gone.
2. Part of the crying might have also been due to the fact that I have had sinus related headaches for the last fucking week and it is miserable. My face, she hurts. SO MUCH. But if I take a benadryl, I wind up asleep for 8 hours. Which isn't on my agenda, dammit.
3) For weeks now I've wanted to stop by IHOP and try their Addams Family menu. But the only one nearby is on the way home from work and getting out of that parking lot is not gonna happen during a regular work week and if you don't time IHOP just right on a weekend, you wind up with everyone and their hamster. Factor in two weeks of Mums not realizing I was paying for the meal and well, it took us awhile to be on the same page.

Wednesday Webcakes. Putting the cake in pancake. They taste like cake. I think it's because it's legitimately frosting on top. Our waitress told us that it's not whipped cream but buttercream icing. If you're like Mums and decide to work on the rest of your food first, the icing will melt and you'll wind up with a bit of a mess. If you're like me and tuck into them first, you will be quite happy but worry that the purple icing/whipped cream/whatever is going to stain yer face. And I gather that while I was sipping my Morticia hot chocolate, my teeth and inside of my mouth were dark purple. Huzzah. Really good, though. Mums and I had the exact same meal which never happens. She gave me half her bacon because she likes hers crunchy and I don't mind a wimpy bacon slice.
tl;dr: Hit up iHOP and try their Addams Family menu if you like sweet things. Or maybe try the Gomez omelette if you don't like sweet things. I dunno. Go. Have fun.
On the way home, Mums and I rode through the neighborhood looking for Halloween. A few more houses had put stuff up but not a ton. However, the house with the skellies finally jumped on board!
I slept most of yesterday after we came home, alas. Dinner and after was spent looking for that story (RIP, my sanity) and then I took my chances with a Benadryl and the next thing I know, it's 7am. o_O
This morning I braved the storage shed to find the missing Halloween box (success!) and managed to shove part of the massive tree back for now. I also found out that I've got like, seven empty boxes and those aren't counting the ones that are empty because I took my Halloween stuff out of them this year. I...why, self. Why.
Cass and I texted and I'm not thrilled with her right now so I'm about to go put a new sheet on the couch and either nap with the cat or find something to watch on TV. But first I have to put the luminary bags up on the steps because I like how they look there and at this point I'm not sure I trust the weather, Cass, or the HOA people to not fuck with my usual placement of them. To be fair, Cass wouldn't be a malicious thing- it's just that if we have company, it'll throw off how I put them out normally.
LibraryThing is doing their Halloween Treasure Hunt right now so if you haven't gotten upgraded to a lifetime membership or you just like treasure hunts, you have until 5pm EDT to find 15 pumpkins. Some are a bit tricky this year but none require you to go digging deep through the "only hardcore LT members use this stuff" sections of the site.
I'm hoping to get a small nap this afternoon so I can take a walk and admire the decorations and also do a trial run of my Halloween lighting. Maybe get some pictures to spam you lovelies with. Maybe not. Wish me luck.
Also, that box I dug out this morning? I believe I took two things out of it and left the rest. Restraint. And also a bit of a waste of my time except one of those things is a blue light for my pumpkin. That I still need to buy.
