Holyshit.

First up, Tuesday night the pharmacist told me that one of my regulars died, though he wasn't sure when. It broke my heart in a way that I still haven't fully felt because when I say regular, I mean until this year, he was pretty much a daily customer and he was one of the good ones. I can still hear his usual goodbye ("I'm-a-gunna try" when I'd say have a good day, or good luck at the flea market) and while I knew he was sick and I was extra worried about him due to COVID, it's still sad. RIP, Mr. Hill.


Which is sad, but not holyshit worthy. Nope. Also Tuesday night, one of my semi-regulars, Wayne, came in and asked if I'd heard about what happened down the road. I said no, so he told me that somewhere on Woodland Shores, near the end of it, there was a domestic disturbance with a woman, Wayne had the impression she was older, calling the cops because a man pulled a knife on her. I realized based on what he said that it was somewhere near my brother's place, which made me think of my former coworker and uh... guys?

It was her husband. He basically pulled a suicide by cop because he pulled his gun on the cop and then refused to put it down. :/ I'd meant to look up the incident yesterday after work but was distracted by realizing that Mr. Hill had died back in April and that his poor family had to wait til July for a funeral/visitation. So this morning after I got up (I had to leave work really early last night due to a period malfunction) I looked up the incident and shouted, "HOLYSHIT!"

So yeah. This week has been a bit of a wild ride.
