Waiting on email
Dec. 2nd, 2020 10:22 amSM left me a print out that was 10 or so pages long but really all I needed was a phone number since the website is no longer accurate. Still, good to know the other stuff, I suppose. I called and spoke to a very nice dude who took down my info and gave me my case number and said they'd be sending me forms to fill out and send back ASAP. Since he'd asked earlier if they could email me these things, I'm operating under the assumption (danger, danger) that this is how I'm supposed to get said forms.
I am, however, confused, as he kept asking when I'd worked my last day at work and I had to tell him that it wouldn't be until the 15th, but the print out wanted you to give 30 days notice whenever possible. I guess he probably deals more with people who are going out because of something that already happened, not something that will.
Shortly after that call, Mom got the one that told us all the fun stuff about her surgery. Visiting hours were discussed, and basically the 17th I will be sent home once she heads off to surgery and um, I'm going to be freaking out the entire time. You've been warned. Perhaps plan epic posts. They'll contact me at some point after surgery and let me know how it went and then when I can visit. I didn't fully get the ICU visiting conditions (COVID) but the more regular floor's biggest change from normal is she can only have one visitor a day. So the boy and I will have to alternate days. It sucks that we couldn't swap out at say, lunch time. Mums and I seem to be on the same page regarding wanting someone with her as much as possible because we both have regrets about Dad. She didn't specifically say she did, but she did say she remembered not liking how he was treated (or not treated) and perhaps that could be avoided with someone able to stay more.
In fluffier news, I watched Happiest Season and Every Other Holiday yesterday. Trying to decide if I want to watch another Christmas movie today or just zone out.
