Apr. 6th, 2022 10:07 amI loathe spring weather. I mean, in theory, it's nice, but it means the end of actually cooler weather since I live in Satan's armpit and spring is basically summer-lite, pollen, and oh yeah, fucking tornado warnings/watches.
My internet is being shitty so I can't even sit and watch anything and Widget's stuff is in the dryer so I have to either wait and see if he wakes up, wait and dry my stuff later, or take my chances.
Watched Only Murders in the Building yesterday since I'm doling out my remaining episodes of The Owl House. I really enjoyed it even if I called some of the stuff... I mean, I imagine that's the point.
Lesse, lesse. Could not resist the urge to engage in fandom idiocy when someone decided to try and pretend it's totally possible to separate someone's parenting skills from the truly terrible things they do at work, at least in fiction, but used this argument on a character that brings their kid to work. There's actually a really good example of what they were arguing for in the show already but no, let's apply it to the mob boss who uses their kid as their wild card. Oy.
Read The Final Girl Support Group Sunday night. That was fun. Honestly, I'd kinda kill for a movie version of it but it would literally only work with certain actresses soooooo... Reviews, however, were super mixed on it. Which is odd given that a lot of the ones I read had an issue with the premise but it wasn't a case of "thought the premise sounded great, failed execution." That I'd get. Not necessarily agree with, but I'd get. Nope, it was "Final Girls would never be a thing in reality!" I mean, I guess? But also they probably would at just the right time, under just the right circumstances, and the book is very specific about the time frame this might fly.
