Apr. 28th, 2025 12:28 amBeen quiet because I've spent most of the last two weeks trying to help kinda train a new overnight SFL, and the one night I wasn't semi training (as much as one can when one is a minion), I was literally fighting fixtures in an attempt to reset a section. I still have NFC how one actually is supposed to move the bars for the hair needs section because eventually A and I literally shook them (hence the fighting) til they came out and even then it was almost always a two person job.
New to the overnight SFL is nice but she sets off my anxiety with her own. Like she spent an hour complaining about not knowing how she was going to get something done and it was like, ma'am, in that time you could've been halfway through the task. I get that bitching is an important part of the job (it really is. Spite fuels me.) but some things cannot be avoided.
I also learned that some things should not be avoided. One week she took the frozen/cooler stuff in and took all the stuff off the uboats inside their respective areas even though she wasn't putting them up on the shelves. The following week she was going to just push the uboats in, which made sense to me, until I learned that pushing three uboats FULL of frozen stuff is impossible when
a) Coke hasn't pushed their cases of products back far enough
b) the freezer floor buckles in FOUR GODDAMN PLACES
My arms and shoulder have still not recovered from trying to shove two uboats uphill over those four spots of doom. Both K and I nearly tripped and fell over the floor buckling places so what the actual fuck, work? And this was while the freezer was mostly empty, so imagine it when it's full with ice and food? The fuck?
It was empty, btw, because the freezer died. I don't think they actually fixed it properly either.
( Well, that was a tangent. )
Anyway, newbie means well but I think got broken over the holidays and has reached burn out and has not yet had third shift fill them with hope. Probably because third shift is getting way too much pressure for how small it currently is.
Oh! And did I mention that apparently the other 24 hour store got robbed and our phones up front haven't worked for the better part of a month now? I feel so safe.
So... I come home, will my knee into working again (this is hit or miss), and basically disassociate until I go to bed.
I did hit up the Holo Taco sale Saturday. Got the new collection because with LE HT one could always, in theory, destash if one doesn't like. And I don't think I dislike any of the polishes and I'm super intrigued by the orange and the pink. (Disco Inferno and Bless Your Heart, both of which also have great names.) I was relatively restrained on the rest of my order, opting to pick up a few colors that have been haunting me, the Born Ugly shade because it was still available, and some base coats. Peely to try and use to stop bleeding on some purple polishes from other brands, the pink smoothing base because it was a reward and thus free, the hand cream because I was curious, and the clean up brush because it's the one HT tool I've heard people say is worth the markup. Some orders come in and look beautiful together... some will look ugly as fuck. That's gonna be this one, honestly. But there will be some pretties and hopefully some useful stuff.
Finished that e-arc of a book from LT that was driving me bonkers. I hate it when I want to know how the story ends but want to kill the main character.
