impyGoddammit nu!Ruby, stay the fuck out of my MH fandom. How the hell did we jump from Lillith to nu!ruby? *hisses*
Vacation has begun. I'd be a little more enthused only I'm tired and hungry and my hair is wet. I feel a bit like a drowned rat at the moment. Blergh.
Rats. I was hoping the MLP reboot would keep Nightmare Moon a little longer. Kay, maybe it was solely due to me wanting a pony version of her, although I will happily take one of Luna. Yes. Please. Now. Thanks. (Pinkie Pie is on crack or something, yes? Because damn. Normally I love the cracked out character but she's too out there for me as anything than a "heh..." kind of deal.)
There's a free shipping code for American Girl if you spend $50. (code is PF02831) Since they jacked up all their prices on things, this isn't all that difficult to accomplish. Two outfits and you're golden. Or an outfit and some accessories. Whichever. I ordered Lanie's accessories (dolls need laptops. It's the law! Plus, bunneh!), Lanie's Owl outfit (it's the shirt and the shoes that did it. Fugly scarf can go to hell and boring capris are both boring and capris), the Bitty Baby holiday dress so that Bitty of the Damned can creep people out (now in red!), and the My AG holiday accessories so Ivy can have some new earrings and the dolls can read a book for once.
That order should be here Tuesday. Maybe tomorrow if the gods smile upon me. It could happen. Anyway. I'm conflicted as to whether or not to try and use it again. I all but promised Cass an AG Christmas present and she gave me a list of things she would happily be gifted with. I'm leaning towards the holiday dress of the year because I know she likes collecting those. Granted, at this point I think this would make the second, maybe third so it's not so much a collection as she likes to admire the pretty holiday dresses. Maybe I'll compromise and go with the Dancing Star outfit. It's holiday themed (if you want it to be) and while you do not get a tiara, you do get to save $6. Or possibly the Bitty Ballerina gig. Save $10 and it looks just as cute on Bitty as it does on the older dolls. *muse*
That part isn't all that difficult. I'll have her gift sent here, I'll inspect it, wrap it, and send it on with her sister when she goes to visit in December.
Now, to get to $50 I "need" something else. I'm snagging the Pretty & Plaid gig, but it's on back order til November 12, which means that in order to keep my grubby paws off her present, I'll have to add a third item into the mix.
At first I thought I'd snag one of Felicity or Elizabeth's items, but the only three left that are really possibilities are: Lizbeth's holiday gown. I liked this a lot better until a) I go to buy it and I get gun shy and b) I hate the weird trim on the golden skirt thing that I could properly identify if I weren't a bit delirious with a need for sleep. I do not like it and now that I've seen it, I cannot unsee it, y'know?
Felicity's Riding Outfit: It's pretty much the only thing in her collection (that's still available), aside from her horse, that's actually in the books and even important. That said, I freakin' hate felt. I hate it so much you just cannot fully comprehend the hatred I have unless you suffer from it as well. Seriously hate. I looked the other way for her cloak because it's her cloak and she needs it. But an entire outfit made of it? *twitches* Plus the seams and things are apparently unfinished and my hands are curling up at the mere thought of this. So I'm going to tell myself no. Again. But due to its importance in the stories, as well as how pretty it looks in photos, I keep thinking, "Well, maybe...?"
Felicity's Nightgown: I used to love this. But now I look at it and I think, enh. I'm tempted by Josefina's, historical accuracy be damned. But at least for the same price, Felicity's comes with stuff. Y'know?
I occasionally consider the gala gown. But I can't pull the trigger on this because of the foofy jewels slapped on it. And the fact that it seems too short. I tell myself that if I really want a pretty shiny dress, I'll wait for F's church dress and just pay the extra cash because if it's at all movie-pretty, it will be swoon worthy.
Mostly I seem to have decided to set aside the money for her church dress. It's brown, which is odd, but movie. Swoonage.
Kay. Still up a creek without a doll thing. So I think about nightgowns, which is probably what threw Lyssie's back in the ring for a second. Meh. I'm not sure Lizbeth or Felicity is staying colonial now that they're both here. Ruthie's the only one who seems interested, and I think I've got pajamas for now. I'm so woefully behind on Halloween costume possibilities that they're going to have to either ignore the holiday (gasp!) or... dress as one another. Again. Even if hell froze and I ordered and it got here on time, the cheerleader outfit wouldn't make that much of a difference. I'd still be down two or three outfits. So that brought us to the next holiday they'll get gussied up for. Christmas. Some mental math tells me I'm missing one holiday outfit because I was supposed to snag Lizbeth's dress. Only now I don't really want it. So. One dress down. KAY. Who else has a holiday dress since I do not like this year's offerings?
I own Felicity's, Kirsten's St. Lucia gown, Sam's, Nellie's, Molly's, Emily's, Rebecca's Hanukkah dress, the Scarlet & Snow dress from a couple years ago, and the twilight holiday outfit that kicked off the holiday outfits (for me, anyway.) You count and you say,
"Uh, but that's ten, genius" and I say that Kirsten doesn't necessarily want to wear her St. Lucia gown while everyone else gets fancy-ness.
So. If I go for Holiday fun, do I go for Kit or Addy? (Their dresses.) Addy's I think is universal in its prettiness. But while it is also cheaper, it does not come with shoes and come the holidays, shoes are frequently hard to find. And if I went with Kit's, it would give Ruthie something else. Poor Ruthie gets the short end of the stick. *muse*
