Dammit, Barney and Robin. Dammit! I don't watch comedies for realistic relationships.

^ Clearly written during the episode. It's now over and I'm too sleepy to really say much more than this:

If I hadn't actually enjoyed the Psych finale so much, I would say that one just could not please me with a series finale. But I did so it is clearly possible.

I've mostly enjoyed the final HIMYM season and unlike previous seasons, I've been watching as it airs instead of binging on it whenever Netflix airs it. I enjoyed meeting the mother a thousand different ways. I think she's adorable and I wanted to know more about her. I could have done without the Marshal road trip aspect of the earlier part of the season and more of the mother.

Soooooooo... the whole finale just having her pop up sporadically only to die off camera without a goodbye?

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

I had a fair amount of confidence in the finale going into this because I didn't have huge expectations and I liked the whole, "We've had this planned and shot since forever!"

Um, no. In this case I think that hobbled the finale in a weird way. Let's pretend I turned back the clock to when I gave a damn about Ted/Robin being endgame. You don't center the premise on the show on meeting the kids' mother only to rarely mention her as a way to get the kids to say, "dude, that was just a set up to getting our okay to ask out Aunt Robin."

You could've had the entire fucking season be all about the mother and actually played that relationship for what it was billed as and still had your Robin endgame, dammit.

Instead I feel cheated. Incredibly cheated.

The only thing that rang true in the episode for me was the love of Barney's life. That I actually buy, even if it did involve the sinking of B/R to get it to happen.
