I'm thinking I'm going to start a drinking game for AG fandom. I'll need some help, so those who have even dabbled just a little are more than welcome. (And if you haven't, go poke around and then come back with your findings!)

We'll start simple.

Shots of your favorite beverage should be taken when:
Someone calls the original green eyes "laser" green. Another shot for neon or two shots for creepy being tacked onto the description.

When the question, "What time period should AG do next?" is asked. An additional shot is required when someone says, "Japanese Internment Camp!" or "Chinese Railroad Worker!" to answer said question.



I'm sure there are others but I'm at that weird space where I'm just tired all the damn time because I spent the last three weeks not sleeping properly and I just want to sleep. But I cannot because I have to do stuff. But I can't do stuff until things are done elsewhere sooo... I'm waiting. And no, I cannot nap.

Will the laundry never end?

No. No it will not. I will be doing laundry until the day I die and then my ghost will come back, look around, and finally say, "Well, it's not Walgreens so I guess that's a step up."


I moved the furniture in Mum's room around a bit. It still needs a little more tweaking but I can't do that until she comes back. I should begin working on the eleventy-billion boxes of books out here in the LR but I'm laaaaaaaaaaazy. I'm also super hungry and I don't think we've got a thing to eat, actually.

Sigh.

Back to AG! We're less than a month away from the launch of BeForever. I'm unsure how I feel about this. On the one hand, we get new stuff. NEW STUFF. I love new stuff! In theory, anyway.

We also get the return of Samantha! Woo! And new adventure books for everyone who survived the revamp!

I might've spent one night at work basically plotting how I'm going to spend my BF money. I'm not sure I'll actually spend any of it, really, because I don't know how things will be priced or packaged, but I'm hoping we'll get the new Meet outfits as separates at least for a little while. If so, I definitely want Samantha's and Addy's. Unsure on Rebecca because I still want Bex herself.

But at the same time, I can't work up too much enthusiasm because not even the return of Sam is enough to make me give a right royal damn about the characters left. Let's be honest, Kaya and Josefina are likely to get the shaft for different reasons.

Josefina is damn lucky to have made it this far and all the signs are pointing to her not making it much beyond this year, so... yeah. I'm not sure how much they'll do for her.

Kaya, well...I'm pretty sure you can figure out why she's hosed.

I'm meh on Addy the doll (Cass loves hers so much that I would feel weird twinning her, like Addy is HERS and hers alone, y'know?) but I do wonder what else she'll be getting. Caroline the doll doesn't do much for me but I do like her stuff. I think book!Rebecca is annoying as hell and her stuff tends to either be interesting or "wow, that fell outta the ugly tree and double tapped every branch on the way down, huh?" Kit's new meet outfit makes me think they're going to age down her stuff which is weird. Julie is in 70's hell without Ivy...

But I'm not one of those people who doesn't think the line needed help. It did, it does. It's just... I'm kinda meh on the characters left right now.

That said, if you sent me a text saying, "Hey, BF's catalog leaked, want pics?" I'd answer yes so fast you'd get the answer before you sent your text. :P


And now I should stop procrastinating and actually try and unpack some stuff.

I actually just got an AG catalog in the mail and Josefina is not in it. So I think they might have already axed her. I'm really glad I got mine for Christmas!!

I am looking forward to the new release too, especially if they make the meet outfits available on their own. I'd like to increase my dolly wardrobe, since I now have three dolls and they haven't changed outfits in awhile. Ruthie is still in her meet outfit and I got her back in May. I want to get some cute Halloween costumes (I must have the bee outfit) and I've been contemplating the 80s-tastic skateboarding outfit, but I really hate that it comes with the skateboard and I don't want that. I just want the outfit, dang it.

As for which historical I'd like to see next I confess I've wanted to see a Chinese railroad worker for a long time if only because the line needs more minorities and that was an important historical event. The same can be said for the Japanese internment camps. More diversity, AG! But I'd also be happy with a 1960s black girl, or a more modern Native American living on a reservation. Really I'd be happy with any non-white doll, and would be even happier if they stopped using the classic mold for awhile. They've retired Marie-Grace, so why not use her mold to create some new characters? Boo on AG for being boring and predictable. They need a new marketing team, stat.

I think, though I won't know for sure til BF launches, that Josefina just got shafted in the catalog. She's included in all the BeForever videos they've done so far and she's got her books being revamped, so I'm assuming it's just one of those, "well, not everyone will fit in this catalog so... Josefina, you sit this one out." decisions. And then they'll wonder why she doesn't sell. :P


I've heard a rumor that I hope is true about them selling the new meet outfits for a limited time on their own, likely just online and not in stores though that bit was based on how they did things when Felicity changed outfits eons ago.


I feel like the only person on the planet, AG wise, who doesn't really care too much what they pick so long as it doesn't yield yet another classic mold doll. I think I would be happy with anything beyond that. Happier with some things than others, quite probably, but if it gets me new stories to read and a new collection to admire, well, I'm good.

I worry that MG's stubborn refusal to even come close to selling out anywhere is going to keep them from reusing her mold, though I hope they're smart enough to realize how different she looks when not weighed down by mutton chop curls of doom.

Argh, I wish we lived closer to each other and to an AG store. I want to go to the reveal in person! Unfortunately, I'm severely low on funds, so I'll just have to enjoy the new releases from afar for awhile. Unless, I'm hoping they'll do like Saige and the d/c'ed historical stuff will go on sale, either as is or under a generic name. *fingers crossed* I will also probably go for the new meet outfits, since it does seem like there's a timeline on them. Also, I am secretly pleased by the surplus of MG's (well sad too, because yeah, head mold is probably going to be blamed), in that I hope when BF hits, they'll put them on sale again to clear out all the stock, esp since the MCM thing is already over.

I had to back away from that forum since it was getting so redundant. "Fill me in on beforever because I can't be bothered to google or y'know, just click back one page on this forum!" or "Everyone use your psychic powers and tell me what I should buy!". If there were insider info, do you not think that would be on the top page and even when there is, it's usually contradicted by someone else's? No one knows this shit!! Or "which thing will I like more?"

And don't forget the questions that are more about how to rear their children and only tangentially involved with AG. ermagh, learn to make your own decisions!

I so want everything about Caroline, except that damn classic mold!! Love the hair, LOVE the eye color, love most of her collection...but ugh, that boring face! Same with #61, I noped on out of her.

I'm looking forward to what the change and revival will entail. I was thinking about how I love the historicals, but usually end up buying modern stuff and feeling bad, but I think it's because the historical stuff is so specific that to me it's redundant to just put it on the same doll. Does that make sense? Like, I always see Josefina in her skirt outfits, so it just doesn't seem as much fun to put her in the same thing I always see her in. I dunno. So new outfits for them is exciting to me. I was thinking about getting same, but she still seems infinitely boring to me (I am of the opposite camp of needing a mini-me doll, I guess. Grew up with brown hair and brown eyes so...pass!). Plus, it seems like her collection is going to be awfully pink, but we'll see.

Just think of all the fun we'd have if we lived closer! Of course, we might drown in dolls and stuff so...*muse* Then again, maybe not. Maybe we'd alternate dolls instead of both of us going for the same ones sometimes? Hrmm. If nothing else, it'd be fun! :D

If I hated myself enough and had thought it through, I would've tapped Cass to hit the launch in Atlanta, but it just seems like that would end badly and not just for my wallet.

I'm thinking/hoping that Cyber Monday will be filled with historical goodness. Hrmm to the MG plot. Hrmm. I do wonder if they would go and slash her prices online or if they really would just... wait, isn't there some sale they do in the fall? I never remember properly until after it happens. I'd think, if I'm not hallucinating that sale, they'd send her there.


Oh, good. I thought maybe it was just me doing the bare minimum lurking during moving time that was making me think the board was the same 10 posts over and over (and over). The people with inside info got chased off (or flounced) or can't say anything lest they get in trouble annnnnnnnnnd this whole lack of leaks is killing me. I am not known for my patience. That said, yeah, the moment anyone knows anything, it's going to be EVERYWHERE, people.

Fucking classic mold! That should be a shot, too. Everytime a doll is perfect except she's fucking classic mold, take two shots! One for the use of the mold and one for the rage. :P


I think I understand what you mean about the outfits. It's sort of why most dolls who do get their outfits changed don't wind up back in their Meet outfits often. You've seen them in it a thousand and one times and your brain wants something different.

Not big on the mini mes either, so we can be odd together. As a kid, the blondes aside from Skipper did nothing for me, and I don't see adult me in any doll sooooo that makes things easier. Although um, you should rethink this if they did one with awesome hair. Clearly. :p

I'll probably eyeball Sam and then Nellie will kick me in the kneecaps and say I've already got a Sam, dammit. I had wanted a new!Sam because I'm one of those who think that the PM dolls look pretty different to the Mattel dolls and Sam is my baby. But at the same time, Classic burn out. So we'll see.

Dammit, all I want are some leaks. It doesn't have to be the whole line, AG. Just... a little bit.
