AG pics that suck due to weather

Sooooooooooo... my BF batch arrived. I restrained myself and ordered Addy's Meet, Addy's School Outfit, and Samantha's Meet dress to start myself off with. Because Mattel is clearly not content unless they're in the middle of a new launch and screwing something up, all the Meet outfits that claimed to have a hair accessory included for BF's debut (so everyone but Addy, essentially) is lacking one in the actual box. I'm biding my time til they've upgraded their reaction from, "so sad, too bad" to "we'll put you on the list and send one out as soon as we get them in stock."
Also, the pictures really do suck because it rained all day until just before I got too tired to stay awake any longer. Then, of course, the sun came out.
We begin with Samantha's new Meet outfit. I debated who to try it on for awhile because it's very, very pink, but a very pretty pink. Then I decided what the heck, we'd try it on Samantha first. I didn't have great hopes for this because my Sam is from the verrrrrrrrrry early 90's ('92, I think?) and her feet are usually too big for Mattel products and she's got the PC booty as well as those shoulders. She's great for snuggling but for fashion she's kind of hosed.

Still! A girl has to try. So I broke out the shoes and popped one on. And it slid on perfectly, no issues at all. o_O Considering every other outfit from Mattel I've tried has been true to the shoes (if they fit, the outfit will, if they don't, it won't) I took off her nightgown and gave her her new outfit.

The tights are nice and didn't stick to my hands, nor are they super thin. They're probably the tightest fit of the bunch, but I also don't know how high they're supposed to sit. Sam's old tights were practically up to her armpits so I'm thinking they revised that. :p New undies are floufier than Molly's (I think Sam was wearing Molly's or Nellie's) but there are no pictures because it did not occur to me until now to photograph the difference.

The shoes are pretty simple and not all that different, I don't think, from the extras you could get in her socks and shoes assortment, but they are miles away better than the plastic hunks she came with for her entire previous run. Seriously, those shoes were just embarrassing. They're shiny and while one did require a little more finesse to put on, both fit PC/PM feet without a lot of profanity being used.

No hair thing which is a crock because Sam's outfit kind of requires one to pull this whole thing together, really. Definitely going to get in touch with CS about this soon.

And finally, the dress. I like it more than I thought I would, to be honest. It's light and airy and very cute.

I don't mind the collar in person and I dig that the dots are on an overlay.

I'm a sucker for velvet embellishments, so her belt/ribbon (which is sewn on but you have to tie your own bow every time) makes me happy, too.

The lace trim is awfully pretty.

I... don't love it on my Sam. I'm not sure if it's the hair thing or the fact that I think it looks better on the darker haired Sams or what, but it's not my favorite. BUT it doesn't look bad. Anyone you'd particularly like to see it on when I'm motivated enough to give it another whirl?
Next we've got Addy's Meet dress. I don't really feel like being stoned for not putting it on Addy, but I don't own Addy, so we went with Sonali. Just so we're clear, I think it's incredibly stupid to state that only Addy wears Addy things, but that's a rant for another time. This dress will go into the general dress pool because it's that prettifuls.

All the BF promo stuff made this dress look like it would be very, very bright. In person, it's actually rather cool. It's hard to describe really, but I think I'll second Midoria's assertion that this isn't a bright color but rather a bold one. In any case, it's gorgeous.
The socks are just normal socks, not exceptionally thick nor are they exceptionally thin. The drawers are similar to about every other pair, although they are slightly different in the trim. I don't have Addy's original set so I couldn't tell you the difference there, and lord only knows where CeCe's, MG's, or Kirsten's are at the moment, so you'll have to trust me on this.

The shoes are just as fabulous as they are hard to capture on a rainy day. They're canvas boots that Velcro up the back but do have cute little non-functioning buttons up the side. They also have a slight heel so that the dolls can balance on the back of my bed.

Love, love, love these shoes.

You'll be glad to know that the ribbon trim goes all the way around the back of the dress (meep at not getting the Velcro to properly line up!).

Sonali is going to kill me because she looks kinda meh at best in all of these shots. D'oh. Anyway, here you can kind of see the belt bit that is sewn on but still has a bit of movement which means it can bunch/slide a bit if you're not careful.
I do love the way the sleeves flare out a bit as it adds another bit of visual interest here. The dress is rather tight on Sonali and I'm not sure if they're all going to be like that or what, but I'm not sure I could get this dress onto Samantha if I wanted to try.

I love the fabric and the little bows on the sleeves. Here's a closer look at both. :D
Addy's outfit never claimed to have the hair accessories included and I love this outfit so much, I'm back to waffling on getting an Addy. (I hear that hair is super fun to play with!)
I highly recommend this one because each piece is fabulous and those boots (and socks) are going to go with a LOT.
And finally we get to what many consider the best outfit from the BF bunch, Addy's new School Outfit:

CeCe will be wearing it because those hairbows are clearly meant for her. CeCe is also about to smack me because her curls need some TLC now. Sorry, CeCe. Two moves will do that, I guess.
If you're wondering about the slightly odd shape, that's because this has to be worn over CeCe's crinoline in order for CeCe to wear it. This outfit has two pieces: the top and the bottom. The bottom is a skirt and mine seems to have run pretty large. Since they gifted the NOLA chemise and crinoline to Addy, I assume that one is supposed to use it under this outfit, which would account for the size. That said, without it, one could easily yank CeCe's skirt down around her ankles. Most unladylike, I assure you.

The sleeves, man. The sleeves.

I do wish they'd made the top two separate pieces, but whatever the blue material is, it feels amazing. This is neither too thick nor too thin and hangs very well on the doll. The velvety ribbon sash is perfect if you like such things and I love that the trim on this outfit isn't just a sticker, this is actual trim, sewn on and capable of being fiddled with if that's your thing.

It also goes all the way around the back, too. Huzzah!

Hairbows are on combs so you can just slide them into the hair. Combs I can get behind, it's those blasted pony-os I loathe.
I do wish this came with socks or shoes but that's simply because the other BF items have spoiled me just a bit. They obviously intend for you to use Addy's Meet boots and socks with the outfit, but if you've got any of the other dolls with boots, those will work just as nicely.
Looooooooooooove it.
I am most satisfied with all three of these purchases and I'm looking forward to having enough fun money to purchase more BF goodness in the future. :) I can also say that I recommend each outfit, although I really do think Sam's new outfit requires a bow or some kind of hair accessory to set it off. I plan on eventually caving and buying her accessories for the necklace, so that might help, too.
Bonus:

Doll closet. Sorry for the funny angle, the cat decided to help photograph things and then I said the hell with it and went to sleep.

Ozma is still piecing together how this new big window thing works. (It is clearly a door but don't tell her. There's a huge ass spider on the other side...)
