Life update

impySo, as I mentioned in my advice post (gracias, my lovelies!) I'm broke. Part of that is because someone *coughmecough* finally got herself a laptop. It came Friday, along with my zulily AG doll, and I started setting it up yesterday.
Yes, it's purple. Purple! *swoons* I was a bit worried about the color because online it looked very, very meh, but it was a special and all the other colors were selling out and I couldn't say no to purple. So I took a chance and it's just gorgeous in person.
Unfortunately, this whole spring allergies thing is giving me a headache that will not quit so I haven't properly appreciated it since day 1 was basically "Plug in. Get anti-virus software. Update everything. That'll be 71 non-optional updates and no, it will not load properly because Windows, that's why." Win 8 is going to take some serious getting used to, and as near as I can tell, the whole "look, we've got apps!" thing is just... no? I dunno, when I'm less in need of a bottle of Excedrine, I'll be in a better place to talk about it.
Also, it's a real pain in my arse trying to remember passwords for everything.
When my stress over not going to Ari's thing got a little too bad, I re-read my favorite of the BSC graphic novels, Mary Anne Saves The Day. I've decided, I think, that assuming there's nothing super wonkarific with my zulily AG, I shall harvest her bits and make a Dawn Schafer. Which will mean buying another Grace sometime this year. Someone did a Julie/Grace swap and really, it was pretty perfect for how I picture Dawn. So we'll see. I reserve the right to change my mind a thousand times.
Oh, and my copy of the new JEM comic book arrived yesterday. I still don't buy Aja being the biggest of the Holograms and I will forever think that the partially shaved head trend is hideous, but I'm digging the storyline.
