impyThe dog won't shut up. All my thoughts are scrambled. I had a post for yesterday but I couldn't manage to find a way to say what I wanted to say without coming across as a complete bitch or having it be super duper vague. Clearly I need more time to ponder this.
In semi related news, AG has a new 'make your own bundle' thing for the TM dolls. You choose your doll (it seems to be all of them), a special accessory (brush/glasses/earrings/some of the shoes, you get the idea) and two outfits for... some percentage off. Alas, the stuff I chose (Not!Josefina, sparkly black flats, Skeleton Outfit, and the blue ballet outfit) came to 179 after the discount, I think, but shipping was $20 so really it was just $10 off. Annnnnnnnnd no. This is why you do free shipping, AG. I might've actually gone through with that (I really shouldn't) if there'd been no shipping. And of that, only one is a thing I've got on my active want/buy immediately list. The rest would've been extra money.
Fools. I swear, it's like Mattel doesn't want money. (See also their handling of EAH. Work is getting rid of them and replacing them with DC Superhero Girls.)
Let's see. Work had K nattering on about the schedule again. Which wouldn't be so bad, but she won't listen when anyone tries to tell her anything. She spent the last, I dunno, 12 years not working Friday or Saturday, which is nice for her. But G, the new lady, wasn't hired the same way everyone else in the past forever was. She wasn't hired with a schedule already set that she had to agree to or walk away from. Which means that if she digs her heels in and says no, she's not agreeing to working 3/4 Saturdays a month, K is hosed. And G isn't agreeing, btw. K either lied to her or intentionally misled her, so G's ready to throttle K. That took no time at all. Usually it takes people a few months to work up that kind of annoyance.
Anyway, I'm trying to figure out what schedule might work for everyone (compromises must be made, though selfishly I'm hoping to keep mine to just funky hour switches since I'm not embroiled in the wanting of Fri/Sat off) and to do that, I've talked to G about what she would like, ideally.
The kicker, of course, is that if K would just go with every other weekend off, they'd both likely get what they want for the most part. But every single time I try to point out that G isn't going to budge on this, K's adamant that she can only work one Saturday a month.

Ma'am, I'm gonna call BS on that. You don't want to work more than that. I get it. And honestly, if she were just a bit trickier and a bit less annoying to the person making the actual schedule, she'd agree to the every other weekend and then just go in and put in for those other Saturdays off as vacation days. Sure, that'll leave my ass working alone but... y'know, it'd be for about a month. That's it. (Retail means November/December? Ha to your vacation.) No big deal for me and they don't care as much about Saturdays as they do about truck... oh. Wait, that's moving, isn't it. Well, never mind that trickery.
But she's literally complaining to people who work most weekends and have for what feels like forever. The sympathy well has more than run dry.
