impyI did go swimming yesterday but I did not get my B&BW order. I guess it's better than the reverse, though I am a bit peeved that when I checked my tracking around noon it had switched to 'out for delivery' and then around 3, I idly checked my tracking and it was now saying it'd be here Tuesday. Which makes sense considering it never updated any progress until this morning sometime (I'm still not sure how it took more than a day for it to travel an hour's distance) but what's the point in asking UPS to update you on things like, I dunno, a change in delivery if they do not, in fact, alert you to changes in delivery? Fedex updates every time the truck hiccups but UPS ignores you completely. Weird.
Ah well. Two day shipping is still pretty snazzy. Not lose your mind and flail around snazzy (B&BW is actually very good about two day shipping) but y'know, still good.
I think after a month and a half I fixed what the goddamned Comcast tech messed up with the big TV. Sigh. On the plus side, I don't have to call them to have someone fix it, or most likely walk me through fixing it while somehow mucking something else up. On the downside, I don't think I can get them to credit me for the month and a half of this not freakin' working. WOE.
Hours later... my box arrived. I'm not completely sold on everything but it's hard to fully judge the soaps until you try them and some of them might not get tried for awhile. Nothing caused an immediate recoil of EW, NO which is good. In case you pondered, I snagged:
Tuttu Dolci White Mocha Kiss (shower gel and body cream) which is described as: Fall in love with rich vanilla mocha & coconut orchid wrapped in marshmallow crème
and is a dead on dupe for
Beach Nights Summer Marshmallow (I snagged the shower gel in this) which carries this description: A warm blend of toasted marshmallow, sea salt breeze & s'mores
I didn't pick up another lotion in the actual BNSM because I prefer the shower gel and I've got a fair amount of the lotion left over from last year. But I friggin' love this scent because it smells perfectly summer and transitions well to fall. Really, it works all the time. A+, would highly recommend if you want to smell like marshmallows. :p (And I do!)
Soaps:
Lovely Lemon Meringue: The perfect blend of sweet and tart with Meyer lemon, fluffy marshmallow & vanilla extract Smells pretty lemon-y with some sweetness thrown in. It's not earth shattering but since Kitchen Lemon wasn't on sale, it'll do.
Jamaica Pineapple Colada: Inspired by our favorite destinations, juicy mandarin, green pineapple & vanilla milk get us into an island state of mind Really sweet which is no surprise considering it's got pineapple right there in the name. :P
Boardwalk Vanilla Cone: You're the sprinkles on my ice cream! A sugary-sweet blend of marshmallow fluff, vanilla bean & creamy caramel The purple is the prettiest purple. This one I waffled on because it smelled great one year and horrible last year. There's something... weird in this one and it's not as offensive as last year's but I'm not sure I'll be keeping this one. Might give it a try later and then decide to give it away, which is a shame because so pretty and it sounds right up my alley.
Black Cherry Merlot: An addictive blend of dark cherry, black raspberry & sumptuous merlot I could buy a case of this and still only have one question: Why the hell is this not in the signature line in all the various forms by now?!?
Sweet Berries & Cream: A comforting combination of fresh raspberries, tart cranberry & warm pie Whatever the pie bit they threw in is making this less than perfection. Might be fantastic when used though.
Strawberry Picnic: A beautifully fresh blend of sugared strawberry, sparkling lemon & summer breeze Yum! Mums has something she wants to say about this but is refraining, so I'm assuming she's picking up on something I might not like later. Or I might not care because while our tastes can be similar, they are nowhere near identical.
Fresh Lemonade: A super summery blend of lemon juice, lime twist & sugar crystals Loooooooove it. Smells exactly like lemonade. This one is most likely to get used (not just tried) first as soon as the kitchen soap winds down.

Date: 2017-06-07 01:58 am (UTC)I liked the Boardwalk Vanilla Cone whatever year I got it (a couple years ago, when it was blue?) The caramel did get to me after awhile, though (I purchased both foaming & deep cleansing whatever year I bought it).
I bought the Black Cherry Merlot luxe soap with my deal. I'm curious to try it out, and BCM is one fragrance you can always count on, hee! :D

Oooh! Let me know how the luxe soap pans out. I was tempted but I was trying not to go too big.

I say supposedly because I do not have it in my hands, and the neighbor who has picked stuff up for me before didn't have it, either. I am hoping that it was delivered to the office because the weather was atrocious this afternoon and I can totally see the UPS guy taking all of his packages to the office instead of traipsing in and out of the storms all afternoon. Fingers crossed!
