Well, that was nice.
I ordered a new pair of shoes Friday during a short stint where I was feeling better than I had in more than a week. I need new shoes and after Lori mentioned that they'd ninja'd her refund into her account, I checked mine and voila! Samesies.
It took me a bit to decide on the shoes but I picked a pair based on a coworker who comes in floating to work and still seems to leave floating (even if everything else hurts, she says her feet are not on that list) when she leaves at night. When she mentioned she also had wide and kinda flat feet, I figured maybe her shoes would work for me too. Naturally, they're expensive and I gravitated towards whatever the older version was that they were clearancing out (I guess?) and it said 1 left in stock when I ordered and I thought nothing of it. Because I am always ordering the last one in stock. It is apparently my Zappos way.
Turns out my flu touch of bad luck has infected everything because yeah, those shoes never moved. Usually Zappos ships insanely fast and in fact, before this order I think the longest I had to wait was when I ordered on a Saturday night and that does make them take longer. But never had them sit and do nothing for days. So this morning I did the live chat and I got very nice rep who found me a new version of the shoes I ordered but I'm also getting them for free, along with a $50 credit.
Needless to say, the new shoes are more than the pair I ordered. So even if they don't wind up working for me, they're free so yay.
I'd say this makes up for being way too sick to take advantage of the AG sale last week.
In case you wondered how the flu is going: I'm still exhausted. Going up and downstairs is winding me something fierce and my attention span is pretty short for reading or being online. I can, however, watch four episodes of MLP in a row before my brain says "annnnnnnnnnnnnnd sleep." My thighs are not happy with me, which I assume is due to the flopping to the ground to uh puke and then trying to get back up with the cat being ever so helpful.
I've sorta kicked the Pepsi habit, but I've yet to find a drink to substitute for it because water remains so boring it hurts to drink. I'd be happier if there was am obvious positive difference in my life but so far there is not.
I'm not having to pray to not puke every time I eat something but I'm also eating like six bites and I'm done sooooooo... the exhaustion makes sense. Lack of caffeine, lack of food, and still just sick in general. I still do not recommend this year's flu.
