4.) Least favorite regular book:
Dawn Saves The Planet. Not sure if it's actually my least favorite, but it's the one I still wince anytime I think about it. It's pretty much the book everyone points to when discussing how awful Dawn is and it's not even like you can defend it because she's meant to be the absolute worst. Why, book, why. Also, Dawn does not look cute on the original cover. Not as bad on the re-do but too little, too late.

Also, Mallory Pike, #1 Fan is just... seriously, Mal would understand the fucking concept of FICTION.

Wait, #57 had a new cover?? The OG cover is everywhere, it was even on the VHS slipcase for the episode of the same name. Strident!Dawn was not fun at all, blech.

baseballchica03 also mentioned #80 as one of the candidates for worst BSC book on the Discord. I can't say I have much memory of it, other than being vaguely unimpressed.

I didn't know it either, but when I looked it up to make sure it wasn't one of those tricks your mind plays on you, I swear I found more of the new cover than I did the old. Which is weird because I agree, it was everywhere the last time I checked.

*looks up which one 80 is* Yup, Mal and not knowing the difference between fiction and nonfiction is a crime against humanity!

*looks it up on GoodReads* Ahhh, I see that it's a variation on the original cover. Hmm. This Dawn model is definitely not my favorite, although she doesn't look quite as strident as the original cover model.

Hmm. I like to collect the variant covers. I don't think I've ever seen this one in the wild, so I'll haveta start looking for it.

Should I see the variant in the wild, I'll let you know, though I'm not sure where to look now that my favorite store went under. Stupid sky-high rents.

I am kinda impressed that pasted on nu!Dawn has hair pretty much as fried as original stick-in-the-butt Dawn.

A quick canter through Goodreads tells me that Kristy for President has a completely different cover, and there are 3 other books that have new-but-similar covers. Hmm :(

The bookstore of awesome and win doesn't have much in the way of BSC any more, but I might attempt to hit up the thrift stores again. I haven't been through them in awhile.

I vaguely remember K4P getting a new cover (guess Shannon the dog was not selling the idea Kristy could pull off the presidency) but I wonder how they decided which covers to redo. Also, what are the other three?

I really love the OG Kristy for President cover because THAT BLUE OMG ♥ I'm sadfaced that the new version has nary a bit of blue in sight.

The other books that are similar are #48 Jessi's Wish (they basically just used a different model for Jessi on all of her covers), and #49 Claudia and the Genius of Elm Street (mirrored/different Claud outfit).

I... don't get why they bothered with the Claud book. I could sorta see changing Jessi so that her books (since there are so few) would look more uniform (but y'know, everyone else varies wildly so why should Jessi be different?) but they didn't really do much for that one. Weird.
