3. Least Favorite Character:

   Devon. Fucking. Whitelaw. I hate him. I hate him so much. On paper, in theory, he should've been fabulous. Someone smart and snarky and capable of finally luring Elizabeth away from Todd for longer than a fling. But he was a douchenozzle from the getgo and things got so bad he had to slink out of town before the pitchforks were brought out. I don't get what their endgame with him was considering the Devon/Liz scenes were, if memory serves, kind of written in a way that made it seem like it wasn't meant to be a fling. It's like they planned to have D/L be a big thing and then it never actually took. And then Devon shows off just what kind of asshole he is and that's that. He returns later in a book I will rip to shreds later and is JUST AS AWFUL. WHY. WHY.

(Also: Devon was created for the show, yes? And yet I'm 99.99999% sure that's not his actor on the cover(s) so wtf.)

I never got far enough into the series for him to pop up so I haven't read his books (just reading about him has been more than enough for me, ugh), but TV!Devon was a total asshole. His relationship with Liz was more of a stalker/abuser relationship and it sickens me that they tried to glorify that. SO GROSS.

I don't think I ever made it to TV!Devon so my face when reading this is basically just D: repeated over and over. WTF, SVH. This is the character you brought back to the books? Ugh! I'm with icon!Liz on this one.

I watched the episodes on YouTube and I think I even made a Tumblr post about it once upon a time. It was during the Christian Gorman storyline on the show, IIRC. But Devon/Liz was super creepy even back then (needless to say, it has not aged very well in current climes).
