Anyway, rumor has it that she's got a new lighter than AG's standard light skin tone but I haven't gone diving through IG to look for photos since no one on any of the boards has shared a photo comparison and thus I cannot confirm. She does appear to have Tenney's arms and neither of the other new girls do and this is ticking me off because I want them, dammit. But I do not want another classic mold and if I did, I'd probably get Tenney but I do want a more Casper friendly skintone because it's me. *grumble*
tl;dr version: New hands, possibly new skin tone but classic mold so my want level is low. Will report back if news develops. Wait, not even sure about the new hands. Dammit.

The doll causing the most stir. You've got people shrieking that ohnoes, why bother getting the CYO dolls for $200 if you can just get this former exclusive for 'just' $115 and other people shouting, "TAKE MY MONEY!" I'm in the third camp as I mentioned previously. I don't like the new eyes and with the darker skintone, it's really obvious, but I like AG doing something different. And even if there's not been enough time for AG to look and see which CYO combos are the most popular and make them in the regular TM line, I don't mind AG using the CYO line as a bit of a test. The $200 isn't for the doll, it's for the doll and the accessories and things you can add on. We already did the math, people.
And I've seen exactly one comparison picture and yes, she does appear to have a darker skintone than their current dark skintone... but we need to see her next to Addy to see how it all shakes down. I think she's pretty and I hope she's popular enough to convince AG there is a market for darker dolls.

But if I stop and go hit IG, you guys will be here for another day. So we'll go looking after I finish my roundup.
I'm going to need to see real pictures because a) she looks like her right eye is 'shopped and b) almost every single Jess mold I've seen since they switched to the new eyes has had wonky eyes. And I am not the type to have noticed AG eye wonk unless it's really painfully obvious, btw. But yeah, I think I could count on one hand the number of CYO Jess molds I would be happy to own and still have fingers left over. Maybe, just maybe, that's due to people who aren't used to putting the eyes doing it, and thus the regular factory made Jess molds will be fine. Perhaps not. In any case, if I see pictures, I'll let you know.

Then again, maybe not since frequently AG will have the bedding available separately and this time they realized we gotta bundle it. I like it. I don't like the price and thus will not buy it, but I probably wouldn't even if they knocked $50 off because I also don't have the space. But I can't say I wouldn't buy it for a sale because honestly, I really do like this one. Little sofa and bed in one along with dapper kitty? Yup. But it feels like it's missing something. Oh, yeah. It's missing a second pillow. Throw pillows like dapper kitty are not actual pillows, AG.

Insta-play video warning for those who don't live with their computers set to mute. This is one of those things I love but will not buy due to space and y'know, I'm not going to ever think to myself, "I'd like to play a miniature game of Foosball" and then set about doing just that. I also cannot wait for AG to stop pairing these colors together. Coral and mint green is just the visual version of nails on a chalkboard for me. Only not because nails on a chalkboard does not bother me but you get the idea. It's cute and there's playability and I think for kids or those who want to play with their dolls or doll sized things, this isn't bad. I do think the air hockey is a bit of a fail (watch the video, you'll never get an actual game off the ground. At least doll ping pong is gonna go straight to pretend valley or be so difficult it swings around to fun.) but that's kind of to be expected. This is also one of those sets where I don't think the plasticity of the set works against it. If they'd used wood and plastic, it'd weigh a ton.

And even if there's not been enough time for AG to look and see which CYO combos are the most popular and make them in the regular TM line, I don't mind AG using the CYO line as a bit of a test. The $200 isn't for the doll, it's for the doll and the accessories and things you can add on. We already did the math, people.
And I've seen exactly one comparison picture and yes, she does appear to have a darker skintone than their current dark skintone... but we need to see her next to Addy to see how it all shakes down. I think she's pretty and I hope she's popular enough to convince AG there is a market for darker dolls.

I also cannot wait for AG to stop pairing these colors together. Coral and mint green is just the visual version of nails on a chalkboard for me. Only not because nails on a chalkboard does not bother me but you get the idea. It's cute and there's playability and I think for kids or those who want to play with their dolls or doll sized things, this isn't bad. I do think the air hockey is a bit of a fail (watch the video, you'll never get an actual game off the ground. At least doll ping pong is gonna go straight to pretend valley or be so difficult it swings around to fun.) but that's kind of to be expected. This is also one of those sets where I don't think the plasticity of the set works against it. If they'd used wood and plastic, it'd weigh a ton.
