impyDay 7: Halloween Kids Movie
I was going to say I don't know if The Worst Witch counts as a Halloween movie but it clearly does since it takes place around Halloween and witches. Duh. I will forever love this movie and really, I shouldn't have to explain it to you by now. I bring it up more than once a year and it's not a hard sell. Tim Curry, Fairuza Balk, Charlotte Rae, Diana Rigg and the ability to smack anyone who tries to tell you that it's a rip-off of Harry Potter when it predates Potter.
But what I love most about it is that Mildred doesn't magically become the best witch. By the end of the movie she's still not great, but she tries and does her best and even if it's not the prettiest save in history, she gets the job done.
If you're local or were local and rented movies at Pick-A-Flick, you're welcome for this one making it to the shelves as Mums ordered it because my copy died and it just wasn't Halloween without it. Yes, I used my connections for either the ultimate personal gain or the greater good. You decide.
