The next person who flips their shit because tomorrow is a federal holiday due to it being a national day of mourning, as is customary when US Presidents die and thus is not something ~special~ for Bush Sr. is going to get hit with the biggest goddamn book I can find. I'm sorry your mail and shit won't be delivered. I really am. Considering I have mail that would very likely be delivered tomorrow if not for it being a "surprise, holiday!" day, I get it. But also... I'm getting tired of hearing the same song being sung but different people. K? And this is from someone who has been kind of surprised by how many people are wringing their hankies over his death while I feel not much at all. Maybe I used up my grief earlier. Maybe I'm in that weird place where you feel nothing for all kinds of things. Dunno. But I do feel annoyed so it's not that I feel nothing about everything. :P

Probably a good thing you can't reach me then, because I'm pissed. I don't think ex-presidents deserve special recognition when they die and I don't think only certain people should be allowed a free pass to mourn when the majority of us have to work. Fuck all that bullshit and give me my goddamn mail, which is one of the only things that makes me happy after all my continued stress.

Fair enough point on not everyone getting a day off. As for which book to chuck at you, do you need/want Girl Talk Face Off? Thus far it's the only one I've found on my bookcases, but I also haven't approached the one most likely to be holding any others.

You aren't the only one who was basically "meh" about Bush senior's death. I didn't get it either, all this overwrought grief and whatnot. I don't remember him being a particularly great president, but then, compared to what we have now he was a goddamned genius/saint. So there's that, I guess.

Oh, thank goodness. Because even people I would have thought at best would have been meh were acting very strange. But I guess the comparison might be working in everyone's favor at this point. "Yeah, they suck, but do they suck like You Know Who? No? Love them then."
