impyBlaire arrived this morning, all sneaky like a ninja. Never did get an email from the doll hospital or my PS (in case they emailed her instead), just a box at the door without even a knock from UPS/FedEx/USPS.
No pictures because I picked her up on my way to bed and I felt (and still feel) kinda awful due to the period of doooooom. But pictures are on the to do list soon.
Anyway, she came in the cheap looking doll hospital 'gown' they've been using for the eye-swaps and it's hideous to the degree that I felt bad considering taking a picture because the doll, an inanimate object, would be embarrassed by it. It's that bad. (Nanea models via IG)
First impression of Blaire in person is that she is very peachy, vinyl skintone wise. I was not prepared for that even though more than one person has commented on it on the boards. I finally get why some aren't thrilled because she does stand out. Not sure how she stands out when placed near say, Ivy or Samantha, since she's currently hanging out with Gabby, Cecile, and Melody but in a white box, she definitely looks different from the light skin vinyl. For those who didn't remember, she's supposed to be their new lighter/paler skintone.
Also, her eyes read way more greyish green than green. It's something I noticed on someone's custom Blaire to the point that I thought they'd eye-swapped her, but no. Maybe I'm just used to the laser green and the hazel eyes that have threads of the laser green going through them, but these are definitely different. Not sure I'll be able to capture them short of dragging her outside though.
The red hair is finally a red that is fucking red and not red adjacent. :D It's not like they hadn't finally managed to pull red hair off, it's just that until Blaire they hadn't bothered to do so on a non-classic mold outside the CYO options.
I debated which outfit to put Blaire in and then wound up putting her Meet outfit on her because I couldn't decide on another one. Overall, I think she's very pretty and huzzah for not having the bad eyes!
