impyWell, that escalated... kind of quickly. AG announced their sale today, which is a percentage off kind of deal, like 10% off $75, 15% off $125, and 20% off $200. Unlike normal, this did not exclude the CYO line. I also happened to have my rewards certificate which was higher than normal due to that sale back in May. So between the sale, my rewards, and the free shipping that either applies to CYO in general or spending more than $125, the CYO line is essentially the same price as a regular doll and accessories. Since the CYO doll also includes accessories (as well as free ear piercing, glasses, and the options for 'braces' and hearing aides at no additional cost) it's probably the best deal I could hope for.
Also, they finally offered a couple of new CYO outfits and I love one of them so um... I pulled the trigger and ordered the light Sonali mold I've been wanting since day 1.
They really gotta work on the CYO creator/generator thing because based on this picture, I would not have "buy" button. But I've seen pictures of similar dolls and promptly fell in love. So fingers crossed. I really wanted to try out the super pale skintone for said doll but that's too new an option and I think it could go really wrong so I'm not chancing it. Ditto freckles. Sometimes they look really cute and sometimes not so much. It's weird because I normally like the freckles on the character dolls but they've still yet to properly master them on the CYO line.
Anyway, the specs: light Sonali mold, light red (strawberry blonde) long wavy red hair, dark blue (Kit's) eyes, ears pierced, glitter glasses. I debated the hearing aide or the braces but decided nah. If there's no backorder that appears, she's about a month away. Fingers crossed that she's got the good eyes and the Sonali variation I prefer. I seriously debated the gray eyes but then she'd be identical to one of the CYOs on the board and I really do love the dark blue eyes, too. I think if we perused my saved creations you'd see the same doll repeated over and over, with just gray eyes or dark blue.

Date: 2019-07-11 12:10 am (UTC)BTW, I saw your ST3 post but do not want to read spoilers, but I wanted to say that my officemate watched the series and said that she liked it but that something happened at the end that really pissed her off. She's re-watching it now with her sister and wants to watch the final episode with her to see her reaction to it, so it must be big. I'm gonna haveta get with the program and watch the first 2 series already - a work colleague's daughter was in S3, too, so that's triple the pressure, LOL.

I don't think I managed to actually spoil anything beyond how the season left me feeling in that post, but I do have another post in mind where I do get to actual spoilers. I'll make sure to label that one accordingly so you don't get spoiled.
Join us! The seasons are relatively short and if you're in the middle of a heatwave, just dim the lights and let the spooky vibes cool you down. It worked pretty well even with this season, and it's set in the summer.
