Spoilers, man

impyI spent the morning finishing Stranger Things S3. And because I am not a complete and utter asshole like, I dunno, the entire goddamn Internet, if I chose to say anything beyond the fact that I watched it, I will do so under a goddamn cut so people who didn't have the holiday weekend off and had to, I dunno, fucking work and didn't get to binge as soon as it hit Netflix, will not be fucking spoiled.
Like any internet Ancient, I've had my fair share of things spoiled for me in the past. But I have literally never had to dodge as many spoilers as I have had to do so for this season of Stranger Things. People went out of their way to avoid saying anything spoiler-y about Endgame or even Infinity War last year (for the most part) but I cannot count the number of times I've had to nope the fuck out of everything in order to not be spoiled. Facebook? People who don't even ever talk about watching stuff beyond "hey, started that show from ten years ago everyone never shut up about" aren't content to just say they started the season. No. They go right into their feelings and actual legitimate spoilers (which I can now confirm because I don't have to run as soon as I see the words "Stranger Things") without warning. Like as I was making my FB post that was the less profanity laden version of the bit outside the cut, my aunt (the one I don't particularly like and this is just another reason why) posted her 53rd post about it. Lady, there are only 8 episodes. I don't need to know everything in a thousand different posts. JFC.
Tumblr? You all went respectfully quiet for a bit when S2 came out (maybe just tagged accordingly?) but it was 6:30am when I logged in and saw the start of something I just knew would be a spoiler because you don't lead with certain characters unless you're doing a tribute to the dead, dammit. To be fair, I did know Tumblr was going to be a minefield, but I thought maybe they'd hold out til daylight or 8 hours after the show dropped? But no. Or maybe it dropped early. Still.
My email? Fuck you, EW. I got to spend the entire season waiting to see what the hell that subject line was about. Yeah, didn't even put it in the email proper.
Because I did not mean for it to be so late in the morning (it's nearly 11am) when I finished the show, I will simply say this season broke me and I do not appreciate that on my vacation.
Later I might feel like talking in more spoiler-y terms but for now that's enough.
