impyI'm pretty sure my store manager quit/retired and just... didn't actually tell me? Or the other night shift minion, either. So that's a thing.
Corporate also decided that we can't put the photo machine in downtime anymore (I think it gets an hour break) which means overnight has to learn to do photo orders. Look, you jackholes, you can have your store knit back together overnight OR you can have us do photo and fail. You can't have both. Not anytime soon, anyway. I was doing okay until I was left alone and realized I... totally didn't understand one of the things I was sorta given to do (I caught half of it but completely missed the other part) and I get super stressed looking at the never ending list of orders we can't fill because no one ordered the supplies. It doesn't help that neither G nor I can look at the order list and tell which cards we could print and which we couldn't (some come out of one machine and some come out of the main machine which is out of that size paper).
And yes, this is absolutely the busiest time of the year both for the store itself and photo. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. I can multitask a fair amount in some ways, but you throw a customer into the mix and I default to wanting to help them over whatever other task I have. Want is such a strong word, but you maybe get the idea.
Monday is my eye appointment (joy) and to offset the insanity at work and to avoid pondering the eye appointment, I decided I'd follow a certain someone's lead and try my hand at an ornament wreath. Naturally, I found one I liked just fine at Big Lots (teal and silver!) after I'd bought my ornaments at the dollar tree. So I was committed, dammit. Had to go all the way to Michaels for a wreath form thingamabob, though. Sunday is likely to be the day of reckoning.
I was looking at various online tutorials (as you do) and one that I inadvertently kept clicking on had an absolutely stunning wreath, but the placement of one ornament was just off enough that the whole damn thing wound up looking like that kid with a boil from The Fairly Odd Parents.
Now, do I sleep or do I watch some TV with the cat?

LOL mine would've turned out better if I'd used one I'll bet! I just sorted ornaments and started gluing without any real direction in mind...)

Date: 2019-12-16 02:16 am (UTC)My DT was pretty picked over and I'm thinking everyone had the same idea but while the ornaments were scattered all over the store, no wreath form. But $3 wasn't too bad and Ozma enjoyed the fact that it didn't fall apart when she played with it.
