The problem with keeping one's social circle small is that when someone leaves it (one way or another) and you don't fill the vacancy, you find yourself realizing at some point that you don't have anyone to appreciate your weirdness or stupid jokes.


Realized this when I made a joke to a coworker who just... did not get it and looked at me like I'd lost my damn mind. Sigh.
