New Tori to me

I have a freakin' huge headache. Not fun.
I was going to steal from Heidi and give a virtual tour of my cave, but the digi-cam's batteries died. So I'm waiting for them to charge enough to continue. I only have a picture of the door and it's sign that no one ever reads. Idiots.
In today's news, I've been up since 9-ish. Anyone who's been paying attention to my sleep habits for any period of time will realize this is madness. But it happens when you pass out a little before midnight. Anything more than nine hours and my brain turns to mush. Moreso than it already is.
Moving along, I am the proud mama of two new CDs. One is Different for Girls- Leslie Mills. Heidi's letter explains why I bought it [yes, I do remember I owe people mail, and yes, I am working on it. Yay me!] but we'll skip to the fun part: I'm a dork and heard one of the songs beforehand and really liked it. Thing is, Leslie may have her name on all the co-writing credits, but I'm not sure that's something I'd brag about. The songs sound fine, usually, until your brain wakes up and says, "wait a minute, these aren't lyrics. This is like Tori-wank. Only it's not Tori. I demand Tori if it's Tori-wank." Tori-wank would be her habit of stringing together nonsense that sounds fine as long as you don't peek at the lyrics. Based on this very big problem, I'm not sure I'd really recommend the CD to anyone, even the teen girls Mattel is shoving various songs off the album towards. On the other hand, the songs are catchy little pop songs that at least she worked on as something other than vocalist. So, there's that. And the fact that Radiowave is musical crack. One listen and you rewind and play it again because it seems improbable that you actually heard what you think you heard. But no. And that second listen imbeds the song into your brain, leaving you vulnerable for the rest of your life. I make it sound like a bad song, and I have no doubt that the musical snobs out there will promptly dismiss it as trash. I would too. But I'm an addict, dude.
The other CD was Tales of a Librarian. Tori, obviously. While the CD's artwork does very little for me, the photos on the DVD make me a happy little Imp. As do some of the changes in the songs, although I was left scratching my head around Professional Widow. o_O I can honestly say I'm happy with the CD, and while I'm not sure how often I'll actually listen to it, it does ease the need to make a best of Tori mix CD. For now. But it does make me want to listen again and again. But I can't concentrate on other things and have it as background noise because I'm too busy trying to figure out what changed. I am a big freak. Freak! But lovable.
Neither of my purchases came from the used bin, btw. Originally a third CD was going to come home with me. [Songs from an American Movie 2- Everclear], but I panicked when I realized I didn't want to buy a bunch of CDs I own in another form. [Originally I had Evanescence's Fallen, the Everclear CD, and Tori. Ari burned me a copy of Fallen after I converted her, Cass let me tape all her good CDs before she moved, and ToaL is basically a reworking/best of album.] The Used bin pickings were slim. At least in terms of stuff I wanted enough to buy now. Sigh. So I put the Es back and went looking for something new.
Gots me a new icon. It is, dare I say, fab. I love. I would marry it if it were legal and I didn't have a million other inanimate objects to marry first. Tis from Ginger Snaps 2.
And changed my av at H-C. Caps are fun. They are.
