addict reporting for sales

impyNot sure if this is a casualty of COVID or if Zoya's playing hard to get, but they're doing a smaller version of their 70% off sale this weekend. Normally it's 70% off the entire site but this go round it's just regular polish and definitely not gift sets or treatments. Also, you can only get 6 bottles at the sale price. Plus there's no free shipping and I *love* how people mention this as a reason they won't buy and Zoya's IG people are all, "but there's free shipping at $55!" to which a sane person will reply, "but you can only get 6 polishes at the sale price, right?" and Zoya's like but you can order more!
Oh. Honey. No.
Still, I picked up six bottles because I've been eying their fall and winter collections and yes, I had a wishlist all ready to go.
We went with:
Regina. Regina can best be described as an alluring dark emerald green metallic
I've realized that I'm kind of picky when it comes to greens. This year's winter collection has two and a half (I'm not sure I consider Nico green so much as a greenish gold) greens, but Regina's the only one I'd buy. Also, I am the only polish person who likes Zoya and gets twitchy every time someone mentions Merida. To be fair, it's because that's what I wore during the flu of doom and it's also how I learned that Merida plus that top coat and base coat was pretty much permanent. Anyway, Regina's lovely and someone described it as a green version of last year's Jen and SOLD.
Nisha. Nisha can best be described as a deep royal blue-violet metallic.
I mean, have you met me? Was there ever a chance in hell I wouldn't buy this? I admit I did waffle a bit because really, how many purples does one need? I JUST moved all my purple swatch sticks to a larger ring because it's the only color that requires the big ring to accommodate them all. Clearly I don't need yet another one. I really don't need one that straddles the blue and purple line. And yet my heart, she sings for this.
Andrea. Andrea can best be described as a cool-toned, duo-chrome metallic with a purple and green shift.
The promo pics for this do it no justice compared to every swatch I saw. Swoon. Also, Andrea is me moving to the fall collection as she was the only guaranteed must buy from that line. She did, however, bring friends.
Tasha. Tasha can best be described as a sensual brunette brown metallic.
Zoya, sometimes I wonder about your descriptions... So now might be the time to admit, though I think you've figured it out, that I have a thing for metallic polishes. I also don't have a ton of brown polishes and this one kind of intrigued me. I can't get fully on board with brown cremes for me but make it metallic or foil and you have my interest.
Soleil. Soleil can best be described as a warm sparkling cider metallic.
Clearly the person who wrote this description was having better luck than whoever did Tasha's. It tickled me so much that this is why you get the descriptions instead of just yoinked pictures. :P This is also the color I fear will look the most like ass on me, but this is why I buy on sale.
Lux. Lux by Zoya can be best described as a rose quartz sparkle textured PixieDust - Textured with mega hex iridescent particles.
I like to throw in a random color sometimes and Lux is definitely random. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about the magical pixie dust formula, but I do love that all the pixies dry in no time and since I hate textured polish but hate drying time more, I just throw super glossy taco on and call it good. Because I also love sparkles and thus I've slowly been buying the pixies as time and budget permit.
Since the site had issues, they're doing the sale through Sunday if you're like yes, I want some $3 polish.

Date: 2020-11-16 09:17 pm (UTC)I kinda feel obligated to get the Lux polish, LOL, as its the closest they've ever come to a name that I'd respond to 😜 I'm no fan of textured polish but like you am not opposed to throwing some glossy top coat on it and calling it a day.
