Kira's here! ♥ I mean, she's been here since Friday but I finally had time to open her box up and apparently change her right into her PJs. Because they are adorable.




In bright light, her green eyes are very pretty. In regular "my house is a light sucking vortex" they definitely come off as swampy. It's better than I hoped but still not the green one truly wishes AG would use. Alas.



Her hair is neither particularly thick nor is it super thin and I dig the color. Giving me little!me flashbacks only mine was much, much shorter. I think she's super pretty and can't wait to find outfits for her. I'm not a super big fan of her meet though I do like the idea of her pieces. Beware the boots though, as when I took her right boot off it snagged her sock and that's just rude to ruin her socks within an hour of getting her. >_<



Other things to note: her shirt has actual embroidery on the not!sleeves. The boots may not appeal to my color sensibilities but they do have a proper sole and make it so that Kira can hold her balance very well.



I wish I'd skipped her accessory set though. I'm terrible with hats and Kira just looks kinda doofy to me with hers. The backpack is kind of shapeless, though I love all the pockets. The postcards and picture are cute. Honestly, the koala keychain is super adorable and I love it but also there's nowhere to use it. I thought it'd clip to the backpack but um, no? So... I am confused.


I do like that Kira can hold it, though. It's ADORABLE.


Kira invites you to admire how well she stands on her own (this is balanced on the white part of her doll box balancing on the shipper box) and also play spot the Halloween decor. Fun fact, the JOL in the background holds my swatch sticks. The more you know.


The PJ top has a fuzzy ...decal isn't the right word but I'm blanking. It's not sewn on and the leaves surrounding it aren't either. I think you could, if you were so inclined, peel them all off. I'm not sure why you would because they're adorable and I love them but it's interesting that her Meet shirt is embroidered and the PJs look like they are but aren't.


I am amused that from certain angles it looks like the koalas on each leg are different- like one leg is awake and the other is asleep. It's not actually like that, but it seems that way if you look at them just so. Seriously, this print is fantastic. The slippers are really easy to slip on as well and stay on.


Kira is likely going to be my Dawn from now on unless I ever get off my ass and wig swap Grace 2. I mean... I might, actually. *muse* I bet Kira's wig on G2 and G2's wig on Kira would look lovely. But I also fucking hated doing the two swaps I did so... we'll see. In any case, I love Kira. I want to braid her hair and cuddle her and cart her around.


Ozma, however, is not entirely sure about this. She did sniff Kira and found her passable. She's no Marie Grace (thus far Ozma's best dolly friend) but she did allow Kira to sit and watch TV with us without doing anything terrible to her.


From my small-ish order her, I'd recommend Kira the doll (her outfit is up to you) and her PJs but tell you to just hunt down the keychain on ebay or something and skip that set.

Love Ozma's expression in that first picture, LOL!!

I can definitely see this being your Dawn - she has a resemblance (however small) to the actual BSC doll Dawn. Long hair is hard to resist, haha.

Maybe you're meant to use the koala keychain yourself, somehow? IDK. It is cute, tho.

Sounds like maybe the word you're looking for is "applique"? Especially if its basically an iron-on applique. That seems kinda cheap, especially if there's actual needlework on the other piece.

Such a judgemental little feline. One day I'll get video of her doing her racing and jumping as she hunts various things down the hall (or me as she's taken to hunting me).

It's not often procrastination pays off in doll world, but I think Kira works better as Dawn than Julie would and now I can just scoop up Julie's stuff for Kira-as-Dawn and everybody wins! Well. Not Julie.

Maybe it's meant to hook onto something else in Kira's collection but since I'm only eying one other non-animal bit from it, I shall never know. I'd be afraid of breaking it if I used it myself, though it does remind me of those phone charms that were big before smart phones.

Yes! Thank you! I remembered in the shower as I pondered such things and promptly forgot as soon as I got out (curse you, shower spider!) and no amount of prodding my brain worked. I'm assuming they cheaped out because the PJs have held steady for the most part at $24 for quite awhile now. I'm not sure I mind if it kept the price low but I'm also not sure I'd feel the same way if I were giving it to a kid likely to put dolly to bed every night and thus the PJs would be taken off and on a lot. AG giveth and AG taketh away.

She's definitely pretty! If I didn't have Julie, I'd be tempted, but I know if I got Kira, I'd just ignore her and continue to love Julie best of my blondes.
