surprise AG release

impyIn keeping with AG's odd release schedule, they surprise!released a few new items the other day. I was alerted to them yesterday but who knows when they actually appeared? Nov 1st for the Team USA stuff, actually.
Team USA Figure Skating Set // $35

Spin, jump, glide! Skaters can rule the rink with this set that includes:
A dark-blue sleeveless skate dress with silver foil print stars on the front and back, and a mesh skirt with a side slit and silver sparkle trim
A pair of white ice skates with elastic laces, real metal blades, and a Team USA logo on the right skate
A pair of blue glittery skate guards to protect the skates off the ice
A hair clip with stars and a silver sparkle finish
So this is kind of your basic skater dress but it's also pretty so I might pick it up. My AG purchases have fallen off considerably but I do love me a good skating outfit so...
Also maybe worth noting: leaks for the outfits for the GOTY22 DollS hit a week or so ago but I'm holding out on dissecting them because they're SUPER blurry and I'm not about to inflict eyestrain on myself or others when I'd be surprised as hell if clearer pics don't leak soon. Thing is, we get a WW size doll and our regular 18inch doll and just about every outfit they have coming so far is definitely winter weather, so people are pondering if a) we get our Asian GOTY doll and b) tie in to the winter Olympics.

I need a moment. I saw these yesterday and for half a second wanted this set, figuring I could just kind of put the accessories to the side... and then I saw that price tag. Like I KNEW this set and the snowboarding set were gonna be expensive but $75 is the point at which I back away, laugh until I cry, and wish AG an ounce of luck because fuck that noise.
I really do like the suit, like... a lot. But I absolutely cannot justify, for my collection personally, that price tag. I'm sure they have bills to pay and fees to deal with but there comes a point where cute outfit I'd use maybe once every four years at the most cannot cost this much. You do you, AG, but I'm out.

If the figure skating outfit was pretty but basic, and the skiing set was beautiful but out of my price range, this is simply forgettable for me. I remember there's a third outfit in the winter Team USA lineup right now, and even that it's snowboarding, but I could only tell you the colors because of course they'll be red, white, and blue. This is...meh. To be completely fair though, I'm not well versed in the history of the Team USA type outfits to know whether this is simply an off-year design wise or if the actual athletes also wear underwhelming looks. Hell, maybe I'm just traumatized by the love and loss of the skiing outfit. :p

A stocking full of surprises! This set features a festive stocking-shaped bag containing six mini mystery packs from the “What’s Cooking” collection. Each of the six blind packs can be opened to reveal one of ten doll-sized pretend kitchen supplies: A container of butter with a butter knife; a kettle and mug; a rolling pin and dough; a sifter and measuring cups; olive oil and parmesan; salt and pepper; a waffle and waffle iron; milk and eggs; cheese with grater; or fried egg with pan.
Baaaaaasically you're getting the stocking for $2 since the blind bags are $8 each. I really like this BB set so other than it being a bummer that you could, in theory, get six of the same set, this is probably a good gift if you're into giving AG priced gifts. I liked it more before I realized the stocking isn't an actual stocking though. Bummer.

Behold, $15 worth of AG puzzle. I dig it and if AG's shipping didn't suuuuuuuuuuck or I lived near a store, I'd buy it.
I was going to let AG's bougie collab with Stoneycloverlane (no, I will not be respectful of the name because what kind of white girl shit is that?) pass without much of a comment but then I had to notice shit on the site so here's some pics:
