I can't believe of all the ships to semi ship in HP-land, I actually landed on the most obvious one. Usually I avoid those like the plague. [Like, in Charmed, Piper was obviously meant to bring Mark, the ghost, back to life and have his babies that wouldn't be Super!X-MenStorylineEvil, but would instead be great cooks.] But other than Sirius/Remus [let's face it. They are so, so bound together. Woe.] I still get the schoolgirl giggles when it comes to Ron/Hermione.
But I was conditioned to love sparring couples by Dawson's Creek and the greatness that was Andie...and Pacey who would later go on to piss away the show with Joey, or so I'm told as I stopped watching when the writers undercut Andie in order to make Joey that much more interesting or some such shit. Fuck 'em all and let God sort it out.
So I'm BORED and need to stay awake until at least 2:30 so as to get back on a semi normal sleeping schedule in time to work at 10. Bah. But it's a Thursday which means warehouse! Yay. I think. I also think I dreamed about work, but I don't remember it. For which I'm thankful.
After visiting a forum that shall remain nameless,I remember why I normally end up killing my Tori obsessions. Because some of the fans are freakish. Not, "ha! I can mock you and feel better and go about my day!" freakish, but the kind where you grind your teeth and want to stomp on someone with a very high high-heel and hope you puncture something vital. G'ah. Heaven forbid you like anything released after Pele or have become a fan after Pele was released, or not seen at least 69 live shows, because otherwise, apparently your opinion means nothing.
I hate some fandoms...
I'm bored, so may I present the blatherings on of someone who wishes 2:30 would hurry it's arse up and get here, Also known as favorite songs on each Tori CD, unless otherwise noted. Woo.
Little Earthquakes:
You gotta list Crucify, Girl, Silent All These Years, Precious Things, and Winter. It's a law. Unless you're too cool for that, in which case, get over it. I add Tear in Your Hand & Little Earthquakes to the mix. Tear is currently my favorite, but Winter is usually my most favorite on the album.
Under the Pink:
Pretty Good Year, God, Bells for Her, Baker Baker, The Waitress, Cornflake Girl, and Yes, Anastasia. Though with Ana, I really only love it once the "we'll see how brave you are" bit comes into play. So, there you go. Bells is the favorite and Cornflake Girl is probably my first Tori love ever.
Boys for Pele:
If the songs are all really girls, then this is the clique I least identify with and am most afraid of [well, until SLG came along]. Where LE & UtP are seemingly easy to crack, BfP enjoys the hell out of being the most misunderstood girls on the playground. They'll kick your ass, steal your lunch money, and unfortunately berate one another for fun. Anywho. Beauty Queen, Horses, Blood Roses, Father Lucifer, Mr. Zebra, Marianne, Caught A Lite Sneeze, Hey Jupiter, & Talula.
The last four are my favorites.
from the choirgirl hotel:
spark, cruel, raspberry swirl, iiieee, Jackie's Strength, Northern Lad. Love them. Occasionally the love extends to Black-Dove, She's Your Cocaine, and Playboy Mommy, depending on memories and mood. Oddly enough, the first Tori album I asked for and the last I recieved. [well, of the ones out at the time.]
to venus and back:
Bliss, Juarez, concertina, glory of the 80's, Spring Haze, 1000 Oceans Ooh. Juarez, concertina, & glory are my favorites. I honestly can never manage to keep from turning the rest of the disc into background noise due to a brief, yet intense love affair with the disc and waking up too damn early. :p
live. still orbiting.:
Cooling & Sugar are standouts and the only two songs guarenteed to make me stop and listen. Because they are spiffy. I will listen and adore the entire album, but those wanted to be standouts. So they are. So there. Nyah.
Strange Little Girls:
I only listen to two songs every single time. Otherwise, enh. But we'll include the title track too, as it's spiffy. Otherwise, bring on I Don't Like Mondays & Real Men. The latter is my favorite.
Scarlet's Walk:
We'll ignore for a minute the fact that I love the entire CD. Ignored? Good. That said, I'm not going to list 'em all cuz I'm lazy. But I really like Don't Make Me Come to Vegas, I Can't See New York, Taxi Ride, and Gold Dust. The perpetually slow will now be told that Taxi Ride is my favorite of the bunch and all the whiners about the Taxivision contest can go jump off a bridge. Thank you.
other stuff:
You should also love the Etienne Trilogy, Fire on the Side, Snow Cherries From France, Siren, Take To the Sky, Sweet Dreams... and some others I can't remember now. *yawns and passes the hell out*

Date: 2004-06-17 06:31 am (UTC)I agree about the Tori fandom. They scare me. I adore Tori, but I could never be part of her fandom.
