when did purses get so hard to shop for

impyOkay, still awake. WOO. Anyway, if you're reading this and you want to help, it would be much appreciated.
I need a new purse. No. I'm not asking you to buy it. I'm asking for help in finding one. My last one was a Stitch bag and about a year ago it developed a hole in the lining and at this point my phone keeps gravitating towards that hole so I'd like to replace it.
I am, alas, a pain in the ass to shop for and I say this as someone who has spent the week trying to shop for myself. :P Stitch up there had issues (no zippers for one) but basically I could throw all kinds of crap in there and he'd expand to fit. This was a good and bad thing, in that I could carry all kinds of crap... but I was also carrying all kinds of crap. No wonder my left shoulder feels like it wants to vacate my body. :P
I don't want a boring purse. I can't/won't do a clutch. If I'm going to be using this sucker daily, I want it nifty in some way. Also, ideally I'd like the option to shove a Sunday newspaper in it since I basically get my paper delivered to work.
Alas, I haven't found much that speaks to me because I don't want anything huge (RIP my love of messenger bags. Why do you all weigh 50 pounds with nothing in you? when you can be found?) and at this point your options for cute seem to be mini backpack, backpack, clutch, or bag that you could probably beat someone to death with while screaming, "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!" Oh, and completely unstructured tote bags which are nice but I've got some of those that I already love but it's not what I'm looking for at the moment.
Untrue, actually. I fell in love with two, and was maybe willing to deal with their insane prices but one is on backorder til the end of the month and the other doesn't come out until fucking October.
Stitch for Halloween! and it keeps getting more expensive each time I look at it. Wtf.
Robin Hood and Maid Marian. That one matches the mini backpack I desperately wanted but literally never saw it in stock. October! October. This is an example of the "do you know who I am" bag style because it occurs to me that other people would probably just see this as a normal bag. :P
Anyway. So. If you've got a place you get purses from or just like to window shop and think maybe I'd like to look around, I'd happily take a link or hint in the right direction.

Get yourself an organizer, they are a must and make changing purses 1000% easier (unless like Sophia you have a weekly ritual of cleaning out your purse - I do not because I am lazy).
If you're looking at LoungeFly, take a look at Barnes & Noble, especially if you're a rewards member. You might find something you like, and be able to get a deal. They had a Cookie Monster bag that was srsly calling me but I couldn't quite bite the bullet.
I tend to go for Sak, myself. They are expensive, but they last forever. QVC also has good deals on bags, especially if you want something leather.

Date: 2022-07-14 01:33 pm (UTC)I really should clean out my purse weekly but I do not. It's more like every six months or when something I've shoved in the purse explodes. (I don't suggest throwing a bottle of Ranch in the purse without making sure it's closed tight.)
Ooh! I hadn't even thought of B&N! I appreciate the suggestions and the reminder that organizers exist for a very good reason.
