In addition to taking out the Queen, yesterday also brought out the new Truly Me line. If you've got your heart set on any doll before #100, grab 'em while you can because they aren't long for this world unless something changes.

Basically this is a line refresh, with all the dolls with the exception of the boys and the bald dolls (we're down to just two of those. WTF.) having the new painted on eyelashes and murder-eyebrows. As I'm typing this, the pink/purple MG mold is glaring daggers into my SOUL and it is 100% the angry eyebrows giving her the "bitch, I will END YOU" look.

While I'm a little surprised they went hardcore on the eyebrows looking so... mean (if I had a nickel for every person who complained about wanting a "nice, not mean" Lea and ditto for Maritza, I could probably buy a new AG doll, taxes and shipping included), I'm super surprised at how many grey eyed dolls we got. I thought they basically did away with the grey eyes because they tended to silver even faster and more reliably than the light blue. Then again, the light blue has changed a lot over the decades so maybe they found greys that won't. Or maybe AG figures they can just charge out the ass at the hospital since they no longer consider orange Nellie to be a defect.

We're gonna go in numerical order, though I may gloss over the bald dolls since I don't think they're technically new. Just new outfits. I do really, really like how they numbered these so that the dolls with each mold are in order.

The All About Us journal

This is the revamped 27 only now you've gotta pay to get her ears pierced. To be fair, I'm not sure if she still had pierced ears in her last version or if that went away once they really started pushing the service. Anyway. For the most part I don't have a problem with the painted eyelashes. I do think they look a little...much here? I'm not sure. I'm betting it's simply because of all the updated dolls, 27's been around the longest so it's the biggest adjustment for me. These are my favorite of the blue eyes they use (not counting one-offs like Saige) and I'm glad to see they didn't get rid of them.
Not going into the outfits/accessories today but we will take a moment to dig the book they come with. It looks fun and if you wind up with multiples then you won't feel bad using one. Or am I the only one who'd feel weird using one without a backup?
For those who'd like to play along, I have a previous version of 27. She was bought for a custom I've yet to follow through with. :P

Truly Me 101 // $115
Item#HJP54
Gray Eyes, Wavy Caramel Hair with Pink and Blue Highlights, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

See? Grey eyes. Also this is one of the dolls that doesn't look like she's going to murder me. But part of that could be because she looks like her mouth isn't fully defined. I know I complained earlier about not liking the way the dolls mouths now looked like they had a tongue (a fine thing for people, less so for dolls) but this isn't really helping going in the other direction. Sorry, kiddo.

Truly Me 102 // $115
Item#HJP55
Light-Blue Eyes, Wavy Strawberry-Blonde Hair, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

This is the revamped 33, I believe. I'm torn on her. On the one hand, looking at pictures of 33, I think 102 here is actually cuter. On the other hand, funky classic mold mouth is at play. Self, stop being weird. Also, you cannot tell me this doll is not named some variation of Stacey. Stacy? Anastasia? Doesn't matter. She's a Stacey.

Truly Me 103 // $115
Item#HJP56
Green Eyes, Wavy Red Hair, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

Revamped 61. It's funny how in the full doll shot, her eyes look hazel to brown but in the close up look the green they claim to be. She's one of the few dolls I think looks pretty cute in this outfit, btw, and in general she's one of the few Classic molds I lowkey want.

Truly Me 104 // $115
Item#HJP57
Dark-Blue Eyes, Straight Caramel Hair, Light Skin with Warm Olive Undertones (#5)

Some are considering him just a revamped 74 but he's got different hair and the dark blue eyes, so I'm considering him his own doll. I like the eyes. *shrug* He's the only Classic mold currently offered with the very pale skintone, btw.

Truly Me 105 // $115
Item#HJP58
Light-Blue Eyes, Without Hair, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

The eyebrows weren't updated here either. Pretty sure this is exactly #70 with a new outfit.

Truly Me 106 // $115
Item#HJP59
Brown Eyes, Curly Black-Brown Hair, Very Deep Skin with Neutral Undertones (#35)

Revamped 85 and the only Addy mold to make it through. I'm kinda surprised they didn't re-do 58 as she seemed pretty popular, but maybe they're trying to reuse wigs where possible. I liked 85 and I like this version too.

Truly Me 107 // $115
Item#HJP60
Brown Eyes, Layered Straight Brown Hair, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

Like 106, 107 here pulls off the new look without seeming like she wants to gut me like a fish. She's pretty cute but I snagged 66 years ago and I'm good. Still lovely to see her make the cut as she was 68 previously.

Truly Me 108 // $115
Item#HJP61
Brown Eyes, Curly Black-Brown Hair, Tan Skin with Warm Neutral Undertones (#25)

This doll is stupidly gorgeous and I think the new lashes only made her prettier.

Truly Me 109 // $115
Item#HJP62
Gray Eyes, Straight Dark-Brown Hair with Bangs, Caramel and Pink Highlights, Very Deep Skin with Neutral Undertones (#35)

This is my biggest puzzlement. I want to like her so much but something isn't working for me. I'm not sure if it's the blunt wig or what. The couple of pics I saw from a store do have her looking much cuter so I'm guessing perhaps just AG failtography. Probably the one I'm most looking forward to seeing real pictures of, honestly. Also, WOO. Grey eyes!

Truly Me 110 // $115
Item#HJP63
Light-Blue Eyes, Wavy Blonde Hair with Purple and Blue Highlights, Light Skin with Warm Olive Undertones (#5) and Freckles

Definitely the most unique Jess mold they've done outside the CYO options and I love the new freckle pattern. Gonna happily live vicariously through other people's pictures but I'll admit that I'm tempted. Just not sure how the super pale skintone is going to work in reality for her. We'll find out!

Truly Me 111 // $115
Item#HJP64
Brown Eyes, Wavy Black-Brown Hair, Light Skin with Warm Olive Undertones (#5)

Updated 84, though I don't remember whether 84 had the lightest skintone or not. It's a little odd to have both Jess molds use that skintone but AG's also not always great at figuring out which skintone they're actually using. I'm not surprised 84 got revamped since they've been including her in the Costco yearly bundles. She's gorgeous.

  She's so cute! &heart; &heart;

TM 113 // $115
Item#HJP66
Brown Eyes, High-Top Curly Dark-Brown Hair, Deep Skin with Neutral Undertones (#30)

Torn on this one. I can see this doll's hair being both awesome and an awesome mess in the wrong hands.

TM 114 // $115

Brown Eyes, Without Hair, Deep Skin with Neutral Undertones (#30)

  Revamped 73.

TM 115 // $115
Item#HJP68
Gray Eyes, Curly Blonde Hair, Light Skin with Warm Olive Undertones (#5)

AG's failtography strikes again. But grey eyes! I can't imagine her hair is gonna withstand much play and I... kinda can't wait to see how much of a disaster it'll be. Why am I like this? But you look at that back of the doll shot and tell me her hair's not going to immediately go to hell. You can't! Anyway, in my head she's MG!Swift though she looks fab in the Slytherin robes apparently.

TM 116 // $115
Item#HJP69
Light-Blue Eyes, Wavy Purple-and-Pink Hair, Light Skin with Warm Olive Undertones (#5)

Look, even though she's clearly plotting all the ways to kill you, I still love her. Even with the meh blue eyes. Love her.

TM 117 // $115
Item#HJP70
Brown Eyes, Wavy Dark-Brown Hair with Caramel Highlights, Tan Skin with Warm Neutral Undertones (#25)

117 is like MG with a tan. And now I have that Shawn Mullins song in my head. Annnnnnnnyway. Confession time: I'd totally buy all three MG molds had I the money and space. I'm fairly certain this is the golden medium which tends to look oddly orange and I'd still buy her. I wonder why they went for two pale princesses and then one medium skintone. Don't care that much because they finally reused the MG mold and then went in triplicate! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Ahem.

TM 118 // $115
Item#HJP71
Hazel Eyes, Curly Caramel Hair with Blonde Highlights, Light Skin with Warm Olive Undertones (#5)

So I know we can't just ask people why they're white but I swear, using the palest skintone for this Nanea mold is verging on uncanney valley here. I'm hoping it's just her looking washed out in the promo pics.

image host image host image host
TM 119 // $115
Item#HJP72
Light-Blue Eyes, Wavy Blue-and-Purple Hair, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

Those blue eyes don't look the same as cotton candy MG's blue eyes. I'm guessing they're messing with the colors a bit and it's messing with the eyes but who knows. WANT. NEED. Etc. ♥

TM 120 // $115
Item#HJP73
Hazel Eyes, Wavy Dark-Brown Hair with Bright Rainbow Highlights, Tan Skin with Neutral Undertones (#20)

I dig the crayola streaks in the hair. Rainbow!Nanea is lovely. I not so kind of wish she had brown eyes though. The hazel works with the camo dress but dude, I would never keep a doll in that sooooooo... I need her in all the outfits. ALL OF THEM.

image host image host image host
TM 121 // $115
Item#HJP74
Brown Eyes, Curly Dark-Brown Hair, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

Yup, still thinking of her as Blair to Maritza's Lila. That's how the brain works. She'd also make a pretty good Ruthie if you were so inclined.

image host image host image host
TM 122 // $115
Item#HJP75
Brown Eyes, Straight Dark-Brown Hair with Bangs and Caramel Highlights, Tan Skin with Neutral Undertones (#20)

People are vexed that while the Nanea molds don't have a single brown eyed option, that's ALL you get if you want a Joss mold. I mean, they're not wrong... I don't think the blunt cut with swoopy bangs is working for me in general.

TM 123 // $115
Item#HJP76
Brown Eyes, Long Curly Black-Brown Tendrils, Deep Skin with Neutral Undertones (#30)

  Not!Makena is cute as fuck.

TM 124 // $115
Item#HJP77
Brown Eyes, Straight Black-Brown Hair, Light-to-Medium Skin with Warm Undertones (#10)

  And so is not!Corinne.

Basically, if you were holding out for some of the newer or less used molds in a slightly (or radically) different form, you were rewarded. If you hoped for more Addy mold, you got hosed.
