I finished The Da Vinci Code. For the first fifty or so pages I thought everyone who recommended it to me was on crack. Serious amounts of crack. Lots of crack. And then it got interesting.

Yay!

I'm now starving, so I'm off to die. Be good.

Yeah, for me, the first six or seven chapters were slow and boring, but things started picking up afterwards. *nod*

Exactly. I don't remember exactly where things actually became "I don't want to stop reading now", but for awhile I just didn't see the allure.

'Course, now I have to make sure the boy's current flame doesn't realize I've read it, because she seems to have missed the fact that the entire book isn't fact, tis, you know, a fictional novel with facts thrown in.

*hug* Thanks for being the first to have recommended it, btw. :D

I'm not done with it yet, but I felt the same way about it starting off slow. Go figure. *looks at Jake's comment* But having just finished Angels and Demons, which is the prequel to The Da Vinci Code (well, sorta prequel; not required to know the events of that book to read TDVC) I expected the book to pick up and kept reading. I'm about halfway through TDVC right now.

I would recommend Angels & Demons (same author if you you haven't figured it out yet) to you as well. Based off what I've read of TDVC so far, A&D is more interesting. Near the end it's a bit out there as far as over the top twists go, but it's still quite interesting and good.

Correction. A&D isn't a prequel. It was written before TDVC. Prequels are written after the book they're the prequel to.

Bah. Details.

Ooooh. So noted then. *goes to the library's site and sees what she can see*

I've heard good things about the book and hope to read it soon. *makes a note to get Angels & Demons as recommended by Talula first, though*
