Kit, Kaya, and Courtney

impyI have been slacking in the AG department. Well, in the ~official~ discussion bits, that is. In my defense, it's not a lot and also spring takes a tenns racket to my sinuses.
So. Let's see what's new, shall we?
Apparently they added the Kaya mold to the CYO maker, though it did have some... problems initially. They were (are?) pushing it as a boy mold, to the degree that for awhile you couldn't choose any of the longer hair lengths or outfits that might read more feminine. That seems to be sorted now and um, I'd totally buy this cutie:

We also have the City Style outfit/accessories (these were the ones being pushed as the boy style), and the hi-top curly hair is new. Oh, and the side part cut (the Logan) is also available in the CYO, too. Basically you wants a boy, you make one.
He's less my speed but the girl? Yeah, um... someone talk me out of that.

I hate fleece. Nine times out of ten it catches on my fingers and I LOATHE that feeling. However, AG has been known to be that mythical tenth try so maybe. In terms of style, I stand by my original thought that AG's taking a page from their debut and tweaking history and styles a bit. I really don't see Courtney the ten year old in 1986 wearing footie pajamas... but I do absolutely see why they would appeal to people NOW to the degree that it's worth fudging things a bit. I mean, how many adults do I see in onesies a night these days? More than kid!me would've ever dreamt possible, honestly.
Colorwise, it's the kind of palette that screams childhood and SSC. I don't actually love it on Courtney though, which is weird, but I think it'd look fab on a lot of other dolls. I also like the fact that now, if you've been keeping up with her stuff, Courtney has warmer PJs.

Now I have to try and remember which franchise my sleeping bag was from. My sheets were Rainbow Brite and they were scratchy as hell after awhile. *muse* I'll try and look it up later.
Pretty sure this was it. I remember it being yellow and also remember having to seriously settle when I bought it because they didn't have one I was super excited for but I needed a sleeping bag for a sleepover so Minnie would have to do. I will say that looking at all the old sleeping bags for sale on various sites does make me full body cringe because I'm pretty sure every sleepover with more than four kids in attendence had at least one kid who had an accident overnight. So there's that mental picture. In my search, I also learned there was a BSC sleeping bag that I never knew about.

I don't get AG's face paint choices. Kits back in the day weren't all pale ghosts, devoid of color, and it's not like that's the current style either... so maybe we could find a nice middle ground between the weird orange lips they've been favoring and the absolutely no face paint at all look Kit's sporting? The reviews on the site all show her looking kind of faded and with the longer bob hair cut so if that's important, now you know.
