Pepper - Just turned 4 in April. She loves pets, but is not able to sit still long enough for them. She is convinced I only have one leg (when she sits on my lap, she insists on only sitting on one leg at a time). She is incredibly talkative (meows a lot).
Olive - She is roughly 7 or 8 years old. I inherited Olive from my dad when he passed away. Her original name was Maya, but because I already have a cat named Mia (and because they were starting to respond to both 'Mia' and 'Maya,' her name got changed to Olive. She is such a sweet kitty. Very much loves pets, and will sit still long enough for them. Sometimes tries to hold a hand or an arm hostage.
Mia - My senior kitty. She is ~14 or 15 years old now. She is a senior baby, a little arthritic. She loves eating French fries and chips (the vet says it is fine, so long as that's not an every day occurrence). Also very talkative, but only when she is looking for pets or food. It took her the longest time to realize she actually liked me. When I first got her, she spent her time hiding. Now she sits out in the open, accepts random pets, and seeks out pets.
Edit to mention: I am not sure if you remember Smudge (the asshole cat who was like the little brother I always wanted, but never thought through clearly): I helped him cross the rainbow bridge in October. He turned into the most loving, amazing cat once he matured past his kitten hood. He was an excellent lap cat, and I swear he ran on dog software. He would follow me around the house, always sat nearby me (and in his senior years would sleep nearby me). He would sit on the edge of the bathtub when I took showers, practically hold my toothbrush for me when I'd brush my teeth, and sleep by my head every night. No one sleeps by my head now :(
Ohhh, Smudge. I'm so very sorry for your loss. :/ He sounds like the best of feline/puppy cat friends. I miss having a cat who sleeps on or near me since my Adora only does so occasionally. I'm holding out hope it'll be something she picks up eventually but still. *hug*
Pepper sounds adorable! I hope you chat back when she talks to you.
Olive sounds like a love. ♥
Mia's description made me cackle at the "realize she actually liked me" bit. I'm glad she's come around on you and the eating of fries and chips sounds super cute.
Please give all of them pets from me in whatever way they allow and would like. :D
I hope you chat back when she talks to you Of course! I am not a monster! Plus, I think she learned to be talkative from me, I am always talking to the cats.
"Aww, you're so cute/sweet." "Who's a good kitty?" "Awww, what a good girl you are!"
Of course! I am not a monster! Plus, I think she learned to be talkative from me, I am always talking to the cats. :D They do say that cats meow at people and far less so at other cats, so it's entirely possible she did learn it from you.
I also meow back, but I'm fairly certain my accent is atrocious or I'm saying terrible things in cat because half the time they look at me like, "excuse me, WHAT did you just say?"

Everything I have read about cats insists they do not meow at each other or talk at/to each other verbally...my own lived experience says differently. Mia used to cry for Smudge to come to her. She did not want me. She wanted Smudge. Smudge was her best friend/preferred creature long before she decided she liked me. For years, I was content with "Mia is a 'look don't touch' free loading cat, and that's fine."
