Lila's Sparkle & Dreams PJs // $28
Item#HRR37
Lila knows rest is important—especially when she goes to horse camp during the day and gymnastics in the evening. She winds down in these PJs, counting horses instead of sheep to help her fall asleep.
Includes:
A blue PJ tank top with a lettuce edge hem and a sparkly center graphic that reads “Sparkle is my favorite color”
A pair of wide-leg PJ pants featuring an allover marble print in blue, orange, pink, and yellow hues
A pair of fuzzy pink mule slippers with crisscross straps and a matching fuzzy pink scrunchie

-insert 10 things I hate about you whelmed gif here- They're PJs. They're blue, which is nice. For something that says sparkle, this has no sparkles. Woe.

Mighty Mae Dog // $20
Item#HRR32
Mighty Mae is the friendly corgi at Honeycrisp Hill Horse Camp. Lila and Mighty Mae team up to help train the new horse Hollyhock when she becomes spooked by another dog.
Includes:
A plush corgi dog with white-and-copper fur, wearing a sparkly pink collar with a bow

Mae here is adorable and I will not hear otherwise. SO CUTE.

Lila's™ Gymnastics Equipment // $115

Lila has to learn new skills in order to compete on the Xcel Gold Team. Coach McKenna helps her practice a roundoff back handspring, a cartwheel on the beam, and a jump from the low bar to the high bar.

Premium features:
A blue, green, and pink color-block gym mat that folds into thirds and can lay flat under the bars or the beam
A set of uneven bars with a pink metal base
A tan fabric-wrapped balance beam with metal feet and the American Girl logo on the side

Also includes:
A pair of grips that connect around the doll's wrists and click onto the bars so the doll can “grab” and “swing” from the bars
Two pretend chalk blocks, a chalk holder with faux chalk in the bottom, and a pretend spray bottle that can hang from a hook on the chalk holder

Behold. The gym part of the gymnastics collection.

Lila's Gymnastics Practice Outfit for 18-inch Dolls // $34
Item#HRR34
Lila’s practice leotard helps her feel like she can take on any gymnastics routine. Designed in partnership with GK Elite and made to match the girl version available on gkelite.com.
Includes:
An orange-and-pink marble-print leotard with orange crossover straps in the back and a GK Elite logo on the hip
A sparkly orange cropped French terry sweatshirt with a multicolored graphic that reads “Gymnastics” on the front and a pair of matching sparkly orange French terry shorts with a pink contrast trim
A pair of pink slide sandals and a pink scrunchie

I loathe everything this chooses to be beyond a two in one outfit for $34. The colors, the specific shades used, the weird font used for the gymnastics thing on the shirt that is straight out a preschool classroom, those fugly plastic slides? EVERYTHING offends me. No.

Lila's Gym Bag & Gear for 18-inch Dolls // $38
Item#HRR35
Lila joins a new competitive gymnastics team, where her coach, McKenna, is Lila’s former babysitter! Having her bag stocked with warm-up essentials helps Lila do her best at practice.

Includes:
An iridescent orange-and-pink gym bag featuring a large, zippered compartment with a silver star pull, a front zippered pocket with a pink tassel pull, pink mesh side pockets that can hold her water bottle, and two black handles and a crossbody strap that each read "Eat Sleep Gym Repeat" in multicolored letters
A green-and-pink ombre water bottle plus a sheet of horseback riding- and gymnastics-themed stickers for decorating
A pair of sparkly orange wristbands and a piece of green elastic faux tape that can be wrapped around Lila's hand, wrist, or ankle
A pretend peanut butter protein bar
A sparkly pink scrunchie, a sparkly orange scrunchie, a pink elastic headband with silver stripes, and a pink doll-sized travel brush

  No. Thank you, but no.

Lila's Gymnastics Competition Outfit // $32
Item#HRR33
Lila feels “ready to fly!” when she wears her favorite pink leotard with silver sparkles. Designed in partnership with GK Elite and made to match the girl version available on gkelite.com.
Includes:
A pink leotard with orange and yellow color-block details, semi-sheer pink sleeves with a silver sparkle print, a silver sparkle-print center graphic, and a GK Elite logo on the hip
A gold gymnastics medal on a pale-pink ribbon
A pair of double hair ribbons on ponytail elastics
A pair of pink gymnastics slippers

Of all the pink and orange outfits Lila has, this is probably the one I hate the least. That said, it's probably because it's got very little of the orange or yellow, and what is there isn't overpowering. Would I go out of my way to buy this? Nah. Love that AG outsourced the matching outfit to their collab partner. Btw, you can also get this outfit on the GKElite site, along with the practice outfit.

Lila's Horseback Riding Outfit // $40
Item#HRR38
Lila’s coach McKenna encourages her to go to horse camp because riding is good cross-training for gymnastics. Lila is excited to wear this outfit to camp—especially the new boots Mom got for her!
Includes:
A button-front denim jacket with multicolored sequined sleeves, a collar, and pocket flaps
A light-pink knit tee with a colorful horseshoe graphic, a pair of black leggings, and a pink bow headband
A pair of sparkly pink riding boots

I don't hate this as much as I thought I would. This is also the outfit AG is pushing as THE outfit to get for her. I think the boots look doofy, but I'm intrigued by how the sequined jacket will look in person. I feel like it's potentially a very Claudia or Stacey, hell, maybe even Dawn thing. *muse*

Honeycrisp Hill Horse Stable // $175
Item#HRP13
Lila forms a close relationship with the new horse Hollyhock at Honeycrisp Hill Horse Camp, spending extra time grooming her in the stable and making sure she feels calm in her new home. At camp, Lila loves learning how to use the special grooming tools to make Hollyhock’s hair and coat extra shiny. The stable enclosure is perfectly sized to fit both Lila and Hollyhock (sold separately) for hours of styling fun.

Premium features:
A grooming stall that features a horse enclosure with wooden fencing and metal-look railing details, built-in corner shelving for supplies, and a washing station with a pretend hose with valve and sprayer. A shelf on the washing station can hold small items like conditioner, brush, and carrots. The exterior of the stall includes built-in hooks for storing supplies, floral artwork, and a dimensional Honeycrisp Hill Farm sign on the front.
A feeding bin with horseshoe artwork that holds clumps of hay for Hollyhock to eat

Also includes:
A galvanized metal-look bucket for feeding or grooming, an orange scoop that can hook onto shelving, a pink sponge, and a blue rake to “clean up” the stall
A tote bin that can fit over the top of the stall wall and hold small grooming items: a grooming mitt that dolls can wear, a pretend bottle of shampoo, and a pretend conditioner spray bottle
A soft brush that dolls can hold, a bottle of pretend hoof polish with a removable lid and built-in brush, and a bunch of pretend carrots to “reward” the horse
A pink-and-blue riding helmet that clips under the doll’s chin
A pink-and-yellow towel with a horseshoe pattern and a multicolored blanket with a geometric print and blue trim
A saddle holder that fits over the stall wall that holds the saddle (sold separately) and saddle blanket during grooming
A sheet of horse-inspired stickers to decorate the walls of the grooming stall

Can you be horse girl adjacent? That was me. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned that before for some of our other AG horse girls. There was a certain time in my life where I would've been all over this. Not now, mind you, but it's time for AG to cycle through to new horse stuff so it makes sense. Which reminds me, all the previous horse stuff that was available like... Monday? Gone. For now. I'm sure it'll show up on a sale at some point. Anyway, back to this. It exists. Ooh. Ahh.

Hollyhock Horse // $120
Item#HRP12
As the new girl on her gymnastics team, Lila immediately connects with the newest horse at Honeycrisp Hill, Hollyhock. Hollyhock is nervous in her new environment and hasn’t been accepted yet by the other horses. Lila spends extra time grooming Hollyhock, styling her beautiful long mane and braiding her tail to match her own hairdo. Lila is determined to be the first camper to ride Hollyhock and hopes to show off her skills on Parents Day.

Premium features:
A gold-colored Palomino horse with an extra-long blonde mane, soft-touch coating throughout the body, and dimensional eyelashes
A pink-and-light-blue saddle with metal details, a hook and loop closure to secure onto the horse, and stirrups that fit the doll’s feet and allow them to “ride”
A pink bridle with metal details that easily fits on the horse and can be reached by the doll from the saddle

Also includes:
Fun, customizable details: a set of multicolored gem stickers to decorate the reins, saddle, and stirrups, and a sheet of 16 colorful hoof stickers. Stickers are removable and repositionable.
Accessories to style her mane and tail: a set of five orange, pink, and blue flower hair clips; an orange hair extension; a pink hair extension; a light-blue hair extension; a set of multicolored, repositionable hair gems; 32 colorful mini hair elastics; and a blue comb
A horse hairstyle booklet with step-by-step instructions to style Hollyhock just like Lila would
An orange blanket that fits beneath the saddle and features a horseshoe graphic and blue contrast trim

I'm not gonna lie to you. If space wasn't a concern and I had unlimited funds, I'd buy the hell out of this horse. Someone pointed out a similarity to a Barbie horse I had and loved and while it's not spot-on by any means, it does explain a bit. I'm not out here trying to spot the issues with the technical aspects, nor am I complaining about hair clips for a horse. Look, AG's hemoraging money. If they can sell a shit ton of these horses to people who want a pretty rainbow mane, then fuck it. Let people have some joy.
Also, someone pointed out that a bunch of little girls will probably learn to braid with this horse and it reminded me that I did infact learn how to braid hair on a toy horse. Mine was She-Ra's transparent horses but the point still stands.

Lila's Accessories // $30
Item#HRR31
Whether Lila’s heading to the gym, stable, or best friend Katie’s house, she brings her favorite accessories, including plenty of ways to style her—or her friends’—hair.

Includes:
An orange, yellow, and pink marble-print crossbody bag with a front zipper pocket and an orange strap with a buckle closure
A pretend cell phone with a pink case and a reversible phone screen
A pair of orange frameless sunglasses
A set of 32 multicolored hairstyling rubber bands, a set of reusable hair gems, and a booklet filled with hairstyling ideas and instructions to create Lila’s many go-to looks

I'm sorry, AG, are you seriously charging thirty fucking dollars for a fanny pack, sunglasses, and a cellphone, plus hair gems, a paper booklet, and a handful of small rubber bands? Are you fucking kidding me? I've seen some shit from AG but this is right up there. The FUCK.

Lila 18-inch Doll & Journal // $115
Item#HRR30
As the new girl on her gymnastics squad, Lila wonders if she’s good enough to make the Xcel Gold Team. When she gets the chance to go to horse camp, she finds creative ways to train for gymnastics and forms an unexpected friendship that boosts her confidence.

Premium features:
An 18" Lila™ doll with amber eyes that open and close, and curly caramel-colored hair with blonde highlights styled in two half ponytails in front. She has a soft cotton body and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl.

Also includes:
A sparkly pink knit mock turtleneck tank top, pale-pink track pants with sparkly striped trim on the sides, light-purple platform sandals, and a pair of underwear
A blue beaded bracelet, a pink cord bracelet with three multicolored gems, and two soft-pink hairbands
An illustrated paperback book, My Journal by Lila Monetti, that tells Lila’s story of gymnastics and horse camp

First things first, book!Lila doesn't look 10. Just sayin'. I want Lila's doll and I'm gonna want her book too. I loathe pretty much her entire outfit, though I think I get what they're going for with the shoes even though I don't love the execution. I have a soft spot for platform sandals and likely always will. These are just kinda hideous. I don't love her meet hairstyle, which is fine because I won't feel bad about changing it. I think it's HILARIOUS that AG's advertising her with a heavy slant towards hairplay given you know who else had this exact same push? McKenna. Which reminds me:

McKenna is confirmed to be THE McKenna!

So, yeah. I want her and will likely immediately put her in something else. She's gonna need a new name too, since Maritza is my Lila fucking Fowler and the world is only big enough for one Lila, y'know?

Mini pre-Lila release involved the Trolls collab and a new trunk:

American Girl® x DreamWorks Trolls Pink PJs // $28
Item#HRC64
Dream of delightful days in Pop Village in these cute and cozy PJs designed in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls Band Together.

Includes:
A pink cotton-jersey PJ top featuring a Poppy and Viva graphic at the center, pink overlock stitching, and a ribbed neckline, hem, and cuffs
A pair of pastel multicolored low-pile faux-fur PJ shorts
A matching pastel multicolored faux-fur hair tie and a pair of pastel multicolored faux-fur slippers with an iridescent heart embroidered on one foot and a star embroidered on the other

Now I want cotton candy. Like straight from the fair cotton candy. *pout* Uh, anyway. I think this is actually pretty cute. I don't have any love one way or the other for the collab, but the graphic is cute and I like the style of shirt. I might snag this at some point.

American Girl® x DreamWorks Trolls Rainbow Stripe Sleeping Bag Set // $35
Item#HRC65
Every slumber party needs some Poppy sparkle! This soft sleeping bag set was designed in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls Band Together.

Includes:
A velour rainbow-colored sleeping bag with an allover DreamWorks Trolls print in iridescent foil, a pink faux-fur interior, and a zipper opening
A 7-inch Poppy plush for dolls to cuddle up with, featuring her signature pink hair, an embroidered face, blue dress, and a felt tiara

I might get this just because I think the sleeping bag itself is pretty spiffy. Not a Trolls fan (don't dislike 'em, just not my thing) but that looks to be a pretty spot on Poppy.

American Girl® x DreamWorks Trolls Fuzzy Fuchsia Sparkle Outfit // $46
Item#HWC02
Positively sparkly and perfect for Poppy fans, this happy head-to-toe look was designed in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls Band Together.

Includes:
A sleeveless iridescent sequined dress with a full, twirl-worthy skirt
A fuchsia low-pile faux-fur jacket with a rainbow rib trim featuring the DreamWorks Trolls logo, an embroidered Trolls graphic on the left chest, and a rainbow zipper with a star-shaped pull
A pink headband with multicolored pom-poms, a pair of silver iridescent high tops with a graphic of Poppy and Viva on the sides and pink laces with pom-poms, and a pair of pink knee-high socks with multicolored stripes

I want to love those shoes but because they've got the Poppy/Viva graphic on them, I can't pretend they aren't part of the collab I don't care about. I do like the outfit though. What can I say, it appeals to the magpie in me. So much sparkle! This might also be the only time I don't hate the pompom headband. Not a huge fan of the pom-poms on the shoes but the headband is fine.

American Girl® Doll Storage Trunk // $195
Item#HPY74
A beautiful AG wardrobe deserves this timeless trunk. Sturdy and stylish, this piece preserves her collection safely away until she’s ready to play.

Premium features:
An AG signature berry-colored wardrobe trunk featuring white strapping details, a gold latch closure, a gold nameplate holder with a customizable name tag, and a gold AG logo badge on the exterior. The interior features a gold foil AG logo print and two-sided storage. One side features an open compartment for larger items—use the clothing rod and three hangers for storing outfits or secure a doll in place with the strap. The other side features three drawers to house accessories, plus a square mirror at the top for doll dress-up play.

Please note: Dolls, outfits, and accessories sold separately.
Weight: 9 lbs
Cannot be gift wrapped.
Surcharges may apply for delivery.

I don't hate this. I do wish they'd gone a little softer on the interior logo wallpapering, but this is giving me Molly/Samantha trunk vibes and I always wanted one of them (Molly's more than Sam's), but holy fuck that price says no. People are bent out of shape over it being plastic but you know what? This sonofabitch is 9 pounds already and you know what does a pretty good job of keeping bugs/water out? Plastic. Wood's great for a lot of things, but if you get an infestation of, I dunno, bed bugs, you know what might keep them at bay? Not wood, darlings. Anyway. Had I a much, much smaller collection, I'd totally love a trunk. But let's be honest, I'm still gonna want Molly's more than this.

Craving Carryout Collection Mystery Pack // $10
Item#HRF13
A take-out meal hits the spot any time of day. Open these blind packs to reveal one of ten doll-sized pretend take-out meals.

Includes one of the following:
Two buttered double-stack pancakes in a container with a lid
A pink-frosted donut and a chocolate-frosted cream-filled donut with a cup of coffee
A ham and cheese sub sandwich with a side of chips
A slice of pepperoni pizza in a box with a side salad
Two falafel pita sandwiches in a flip-box container (rare pack!)
A steak burrito and a large soda
An order of Buffalo chicken wings with a side of celery in a flip-box container
An order of sesame chicken with white rice in a take-out box
A sushi sampler container with one California roll and one shrimp roll (rare pack!)
A chicken tikka masala platter with white rice in a two-sided container

Okay, that carryout menu for the checklist is clever. People lost their absolute shit over this set, particularly that chicken tikka masala platter. I'm kind of meh on this. I like the idea, I just think that AG's food is hit or miss. Look at that pitiful sub. Take a second look at the sesame chicken and imagine finding that without context. Yeah.

You had me cracking up over the food comments. You have channeled Kristy successfully. Good job. I have to admit, I do kinda want the tikka masala because I adore tikka masala. I don't understand what some of them are. Why is there a green brain with cocktail weenies on it paired with the pizza? What even is that in the tan container between the sushi and donuts?

I hate that I'm so bored by Lila, but here we are. I love the doll herself, but the only other piece I like in her entire collection is the PJ pants.

Great name though. And I love the McKenna aspect. Best thing about her.

AG is trying to make the pink/orange/yellow combo AND fanny packs happen?! I am DYING, OMG.

I was never a horse girl. I am envious that you had She-Ra's horse, though! (I was a huge She-Ra fan, LOL.)
