Went in last night because honestly, there wasn't any reason not to. I did tell Mums before we left that if for any reason she didn't feel comfortable on the drive to (or thought a particular section would be bad in the morning), we could just turn around and say fuck it. We did not. There was a section of 61 that said Road Closed but...wasn't? Not sure if they just forgot to take the signs down before Debby hit or if maybe they did have things closed for a bit at some point, but it wasn't blocked off and no sign of people doing anything.
Work was very quiet and like I thought, we didn't have truck to put up. The bad news is that both trucks are coming today (and maybe the food truck) and uh...I'll be the only one there tonight. Last night we had Sam working her new split schedule and K working but tonight I'm the only person scheduled. Not sure if S is gonna wind up calling out because dude looked ready to keel over. I really, really hope he doesn't have anything contagious. o_O
Lesse, lesse. The fun thing about tropical storms is that I get to hear about places I didn't know existed in the area when shit goes sideways. I also learned that we had a tornado not that far from here, but luckily it went to the golf course. It doesn't sound like it did much, thankfully. Oh, and two sinkholes developed. One downtown, which no one is all that surprised about and one closer to Edisto, though I wouldn't consider that in WA like Mom said the radio reported. So maybe there's another one? *muse* I was not the only person to call out Tuesday as when I looked at the schedule a good half of the employees had call out over their shift.
OH! And they had to jerry rig two tarps in the stockroom with hoses coming from them because I gather we have more leaks. It was so strange to walk in and see what looked like two upside down umbrellas at first. A+ workmanship, Wags.
Oh, and I'm 76% sure I heard a mouse or a rat in the stockroom but I did not investigate because I didn't want to know for sure.
