Plus side, because my ass is late, I do also have previews of the holiday dress and the new Janie and Jack collection, both of which should be coming by the end of the month.

Okay, Karen Brewerness aside, I absolutely love Summer. I think she's cute as hell and I love that she's got glasses even though I swear to god, they don't show her wearing them in anything other than the doll/Meet accessories photos. Why? She's so cute wearing them! I am personally offended by everyone going "ew, Nanea mold, instant no." and I read each of them in the worst bitchy, snobby voice ever. Every time. *grabby hands* It is weird that my last two instant need AGs have been blondes with BSC vibes but here we are.
For those into such things, Summer's got a new box design. Torn on this because for all the people who have reported getting the LOOK from associates in stores for looking at multiple dolls to pick a good one, the lack of window is gonna make that even more of a thing. On the other hand, I think it's said it was to make it more environmentally friendly? Eh. I don't go to the stores enough for it to be a thing for me so just noting it.

I'm sure somewhere people are complaining about plastic this and that but dude, it looks cute and fun to play with.
I will never not crack up at AG only handing out $3 in fake money at a time. Seriously, AG?

I wanted to like this, but something isn't working. Or maybe lots of things aren't working? I love that they embroidered the cupcake on the shirt. I love that shade of purple. I... do not love the collar. At least not on Summer. I do wonder if I simply don't like this outfit on Summer and would like it on someone else? The sequin skirt is different. Kinda wondering if the sequins are holographic (they look it in exactly ONE picture, but they do say they're multicolored) and if they are, how things would look if you removed the overlay? Or maybe I'd like it just not paired with the shirt. *muse* I like the squiggle headband but feel like we've gotten those shoes before.
Overall, it's fine but not doing it for me as a whole. It also feels very, very young, which is a bit odd when you're having this be her outfit for when she's out selling stuff. Eh.

It's weird how proud I am of a freakin' company for finally realizing they could cross-promote their products, right? But having them explicitly state that you can pair this set with the Kitchen set isn't something they would've done in years past, so good on them for finally realizing these are streams you should cross.
I hate that the whisk green doesn't match the rest of the greens. I hope it's just for the promo shots and that the actual products match and I realize this is the tiniest of things to point out, but other than that, this is a fine set. I'll always wish the eggs weren't clumped but I also get why they are (safety and because they would absolutely get lost). Their clumped batter looks gross to me but I could see it being used for all kinds of pretend treats, so there's that.

This is another outfit I don't love on Summer. Is it because they don't seem to put her glasses on her and I think she looks wrong without them? Maybe. But I also think the outfit's silhoutte looks a bit weird with the jacket not meeting the skirt. It's a bit too short and with the high collar it looks off. I'm wondering how bright the shoes are, as they look like they're kinda washed out in some pics and awfully vibrant in others.
I love the skort. It's taken me a few days to come around to it, but the pockets are cute and realizing it's a skort is just enough to make me love it. Kid!me loved a good skort and I'll always have a soft spot for them. Of her two actual outfits, this is the one I'll likely try to pickup.

I think the art's pretty cute and I want to read this and the regular book.
Overall, I think Summer lands pretty squarely where a lot of the GOTY dolls have landed for me. Love the doll, kinda meh on the collection. I love the rainbow theme and I really, really love the doll though, so I'm hoping I love the character as well.
From this shot, I'm more into the kid size than the doll size, but we'll see. I definitely get the Sam inspired vibes though.
Curious as to how this will play out. Cautiously optimistic.

Overall, I think Summer lands pretty squarely where a lot of the GOTY dolls have landed for me. Love the doll, kinda meh on the collection. I love the rainbow theme and I really, really love the doll though, so I'm hoping I love the character as well.
From this shot, I'm more into the kid size than the doll size, but we'll see. I definitely get the Sam inspired vibes though.
Curious as to how this will play out. Cautiously optimistic.
