impyI feel like there are productive things I could or should be doing, but instead I've decided to finally go through the HT site and see which polishes are on my wishlist and which ones I might allow myself to buy if they get the axe this Saturday. I guess it's a bit of an assumption that just because this Saturday is the data stream that they'll do what they've done before and announce retiring shades, but it seems pretty plausible.
--- So I wrote the above uh... Tuesday morning? And then promptly did fuck all with this, even though I spent HOURS poking around in between the cats demanding attention. :p So I'm gonna go back through and add people's guesses from the teaser photo about what's either getting the axe or is in the bottom sellers list; I haven't gone to the source to see which it is, but everyone's just treating it like the retirement shades so that's what we'll do. ----
So, let's go through the polishes by color and see what's what. Colors that pop up under multiple categories only get mentioned the first time they appear.
Magenta/Pink:
I'm on page 2 already, so let's just start here.
I have: Camera Shy (good, because she's gone), Private Villa, and Vine to Table
I thought I had Pop Rocker, but apparently I don't. If it gets the axe and there's something else I want other than WW, I might cave. Ditto for Don't Be Jelly, though less so for that one since I'd rather have another from that collection. I don't see CTRL Cutie going anywhere, but if hell froze, I'd scoop that one up before anyone else on the page. What A Catch ain't for me, Cloud Nine is another maybe, and the cremes ehhhhhh. If they were still around for the sale later in the year, maybe for Nip (Rose, Marry, Kill has a fun name but good lord would I have corpse hands with that one).

Probably No, but future me is a rascally rabbit: Garden Party (do I wear big glitters? No. Can I say for certain I wouldn't want to suddenly wear a big flower glitter at some point? Not likely to happen but I can't say no for sure), Cats' Evasion
Thought I had Cosmic, but apparently no. I don't see a world in which she gets rid of her unicorn skins unless there's a sourcing issue, so likely safe til the sale. I can never remember whether I have Dead Petals (I don't), but I'd likely snag it if it gets the axe. I need to see what my pink creme collection is like for the others. I'd probably grab High Tea and maybe Pinky Swear or Sweet Tooth. Gonna have to check the swatch vids for those and What Do You Pink?
Of the pinks, I'm betting Pink Steel is toast due to sourcing issues since I gather it's been out of stock for eons now. I'd happily wave goodbye to Curfew Crasher, but I know a lot of people like it. If Hot-Wire goes, we riot because she is perfection.
Based on the blurry teaser, it looks like Pink Fizz is likely going. I wonder why? Actually, scratch that, it's probably because they're keeping Toe Beans and figure they don't need both. (Toe Beans has a cuter name but Pink Fizz is actually prettier, even if it lands on the purple end of the spectrum for me.) What Do You Pink is also up. I wonder if they'll do something similar or if this one's going simply because it's older and not as new/exciting, and doesn't do One Coat Black numbers so no real incentive to keep it around.
Red/Orange:
Have: Play Rose, Red Licorice, Fallen Flake (love), Devil's Advocate, Red Flake, Cheap Champagne, Sacrificial Lacquer, Zyler the Cat, Oh My Gourd, Scorched Earth, Brick Wall, Burnt Bridges, I'm Rover It, Zyler Cat Eye, Tax Haven

I'd probably snag The Floor is Guava, Left on Red, Peach Tea, and Over Brew if they got the axe

I want Cardinal Sins and meant to pick it up for Black Friday but it missed the bag.
I'm torn on Byte My Peach because I don't love peach shades but the name makes me snort and it's not offensively peach. Feeling Sparks could go either way because HT's magnetics are iffy but this one seems okay but I don't like flakies in my magnetics usually.
People are torn on whether it's Peach Tea or Cheap Champagne being sent off into the sunset. I kinda want it to be Cheap Champagne because I loathe that shade but people LOVE it.
Yellow/Gold:
Have: Gold Flake, Lemon Sucker, Beach Please, Menchie Cat Eye, Inkwell, Bottle Service, Coin Toss
I probably don't need Purple with Envy as there are only so many ways a multichrome can go and I'm fairly certain I have this from another brand, and the cremes I might gamble with a sale or just be content with the two yellow cremes I have already.
The rest, I'd probably snag if they got the axe, as Nature Calls is a pretty shade but I keep forgetting it exists, Secret Society can look stunning, and Phantom Call seems to be one of those looks different on EVERYONE shades.
I'm betting at least one of the yellow cremes is going and Lemon Sucker could be not long for this world, but Beach Please is likely toast unless they decide they really like having the perfect sand color (and texture) in polish form. Maybe Sunshine Crush instead of Lemon Sucker since I think both were on the bottom sales wise before. I'm betting so hard on Beach Please that I bought it during the BF sale. :p
Apparently Sunshine Crush is on the chopping block, which doesn't surprise me since it was on the bottom last year, too. It's a shame because it's actually really pretty. Lemon Sucker is also getting the boot, which isn't a surprise but I'd rather keep that than the yellow cremes. I'm really surprised Beach Please is possibly safe though. o_O
Green/Teal

I probably will skip Missed Shift for the aforementioned multichrome similarities
I'd buy Bring Me the Teal and Modest Moss because as you can tell, I am a teal/green lover.

Betting on Goodbye: Wicked Potion because their first wave of magnetics weren't great and it's a stainer and a half and also out of stock, Green Taffy is gorgeous but could be a source issue they might not bother trying to fix since it doesn't sell well, and if Mint Mojito is having sourcing issues I could see it going for that alone. Alexandrite might also if the sourcing is the issue they initially thought it was going to be. I wouldn't be surprised if they killed So Toxic or reformulated it as people were NOT happy with the formula even if they love the color. We riot if Hydropower goes.

Tired of breaking these up by pages, so here, have a billion all at once. On the fence with Well Wishes, as promo pics look too close to Peri but actual user photos make it clear they're not that close and once someone said it was Eeyore coded... oof. Made Me Ink is one of the few Jelly Flakies I want with Crashing Out a little behind it. 8bit Blues is on the wants, and Shadow Lake is a definite maybe :p
Off The Grid I think has too many flakies in the magnetic for me but I do give it points for being unique. Any of the cremes are maybes, depending on how I feel. Do I need them? No. Do I enjoy blues? Obviously yes and if any made it to the sale, I'd scoop them then.
For the blues possibly being shown the door, we've got Twice in a Blue Moon (not a shock but the color is pretty so sad), Cyantific, and either Cold Slate or Crystal Skies. If it's Crystal Skies, I will cackle but also be a little sad. It replaced Frost Light (no matter the backpedaling done, you will never convince me or a good chunk of the customer base that Frost Light wasn't sacrificed for Crystal Skies. Alas, where FL was a beautiful shimmering icey blue, CS is an overcast, cloudy blue grey with square fucking glitters. Which is funny because had they kept both, I could see both being popular for glitter bombs) and as you might've picked up on, that decision was nooooooooooootttttt popular. If they do bring back In A Flurry from the Advent Calendar, I can totally see Crystal Skies falling prey to what killed Frost Light. Cold Slate is less interesting, both in backstory and in formula. If it's still around at sale time or something, I might because I do like blue grey.
Purple/Violet
Have: Lavender Syrup, Party of One Purple, Resting Witch Face, Violet Nightmares, Iron Violet, Flash Drive, Electric Sweetener, Lo-Fi Lavender, Just Vamping, Vine to Table,
Doubt it'd get the axe, but short of that happening or it being a freebie, I probably won't go for Glitch & Glam anytime soon because it feels pretty similar to Lo-Fi and other purples they've done before. Of the cremes, I'd probably get Cereal Killer because the name amuses me and I do like the color.
Likely toast: Iron Violet's been out of stock for awhile (really wonder if they're not including the out of stock shades for the teaser)
Neutrals:
Oat Couture, Blushed Ice, Holo Cappuccino, Need I Say Mocha, Espresso Your Holo, Fifty Shades of Greige, Brownie Points, Sugar Rush
I want Ginger Snatched but it keeps getting knocked out of my cart by things that are literally shinier. I doubt it'll happen, but if Ivory Tower went, I'd probably grab it.
If Chai goes this year, I won't be surprised. Nor will I be surprised if it stays since it's one of those where the people that love it, LOVE it and those who don't just think it's ugly and move on. I don't see the Barista collection going anywhere and honestly kinda surprised Cool Ranch didn't last longer, so they must've either shortpacked it or demand waaaaaaaaaaaay exceeded expectations.
Chai's looking like a goner, and if it's not Cheap Champagne or Peach Tea, it could be Blushed Ice, which might make sense since it's one of the polishes people are always saying the color is changing (it's also really, really close to Oat Couture color wise and that's gotta be a PITA to keep track of) Oh, and Stay Grounded is going, which isn't a surprise since if one took a shot for each time someone called it shit (or any variation thereof), one would be very rich.
While/Silver:
Have: Linear, Holo, Rainbow Snow, Everything Taco, Circuit Breaker, Featured Guest, Reflective, Silver Flake, Gift Receipt, Alien Infatuation (did I miss this in the greens?), World's First
I haven't picked up Scattered because I have a couple of other scattered holos I enjoy, but it's one I do keep an eye out for in case it pops up as a reward or something. I'd probably snag Not Milky White but I don't see it going anywhere, ditto Milky White Shimmer. I'd snag Shooting Star just because stars are one of the few big glitters I might use, and I'd probably go for Swan Song since I do enjoy a blue shimmer. Knight Life I'm iffier on because it's either one I'd get and think wow, so much prettier in person, or get and think, nope just the cloudy, drab mess I thought it'd be.
Wonder if World's First is going or Silver Flake. We riot for Circuit Breaker and Rainbow Snow.
Looks like Swan Song is going, though someone did make a good case for Rose, Marry, Kill. I'm still leaning towards Swan because as pretty as it is in theory, I've seen like two people on the entire subreddit (and elsewhere) actually like it formula wise.
Black/Grey:
Have: One Coat Black, Electrostatic, Black Flake, Waste of Space, Trick or Trash
If Duct Tape goes, I'd probably pick it up, but I hope they keep both Foreshadow and Duct Tape since they're pretty much the same color but different undertones and that plays a big difference in certain colors. Like grey. :p One Coat ain't going anywhere because it's the best seller every year by such a wide margin that they usually have to exclude it from the data beyond acknowledging that once more it trounced everyone.
Rainbow:
Disco Dust is one I own so I guess I'm good here.

Looks like Swan Song is going, though someone did make a good case for Rose, Marry, Kill. I'm still leaning towards Swan because as pretty as it is in theory, I've seen like two people on the entire subreddit (and elsewhere) actually like it formula wise.
Black/Grey:
Have: One Coat Black, Electrostatic, Black Flake, Waste of Space, Trick or Trash
If Duct Tape goes, I'd probably pick it up, but I hope they keep both Foreshadow and Duct Tape since they're pretty much the same color but different undertones and that plays a big difference in certain colors. Like grey. :p One Coat ain't going anywhere because it's the best seller every year by such a wide margin that they usually have to exclude it from the data beyond acknowledging that once more it trounced everyone.

Disco Dust is one I own so I guess I'm good here.

Swan Song, Cyantific, Stay Grounded, Pink Fizz, Cold Slate/Crystal Skies, Sunshine Crush, What Do You Pink?, Twice in a Blue Moon, Cheap Champagne/Peach Tea/Blushed Ice, Starry Eyed, Lemon Sucker, and See Y'all Later Chai are the rumored retiring shades.
Of those, Pink Fizz and Starry Eyed are the only ones that are really a surprise, though I'll be a little surprised if Peach Tea goes. As it is, I'm not sure I'll be attempting to buy anything right now. I can't imagine the cremes are that hard to dupe and if Swan Song is as hard to work with as everyone says, I'll keep to the semi-similar shades from other brands I already own.
