Y Tu Mummy TambienThe Mummy's Tomb:
January 5, 2003
Firstly- Adrian Paul. Yummy. More screen time than his Highlander counterpart Elizabeth Gracen, but still. I could happily have had him switch places with Brian permanently.
The Good:
Yay for a Darryl subplot! Even if it wasn't too much, it was something, and I'm always happy to see him. :D
Piper's 'cute' maternity shirt [not so much the pants] was cute. Congrats on actually finding something cute, Eilish. [Did she find it?] This leads to the cute Piper/Leo moment near the mirror. Awww. *sniffles*
The plot itself wasn't terribly cheesy and thus I liked it. People do crazy things for love, and what's a little mummification through the years? Plus it actually made sense that the more powerful a witch, the faster Isis'd burn through her body. Kudos to whomever figured that out.
Quotes! I got yer quotes right here:
Damn. Still here. | Can't you at least let me not die in peace? -Cole
The batteries comment from Paige was snicker worthy, and reminded me of zee pilot when Piper & Phoebe are asking the spirit board about Prue. *smirk*
The way HMC tells Cole to get out after he's set her up. Spookily goodness!
Speaking of Cole, I'm still liking him. I find it ironic, all things considered. Crazy Cole is fun, and it seems like Julian was having fun with it, although it's kind of convenient to have him go nuts to the point where they just have to get rid of him. 'Scuse me while I roll my eyes and then check my temperature as I think McMahoniacs have been saying that all season.
The Not So Good:
Not fond of Piper's complete dismissal of Darryl's problem. Paige was right; all the times he risked his job and his life to help them, was it really asking all that much for them to listen to him complain ever briefly? Apparently. I know, Phoebe's missing versus Darryl's job going down the crapper. Tough call on which is more important. But still.
Alyssa's inability to go one episode without using the baby voice. Sigh. It didn't bug me til she used it every episode. Now, even when it makes sense to use it, it's annoying. You'd think a month of reruns would have cured me. I blame the writers for making Cole more interesting than Phoebe, even when he's not more sympathetic!
Ewww. Adrian kissing Alyssa. Ewwww.
Overall I really liked the episode and it was better than I expected. Which is a good thing. Is it the best episode in the world? No. But it was a nice mix of all three sisters and most of the acting was spiffy. Adrian Paul is yummy, Rose was gorgeous, and Holly's acting was sniffle worthy, or awwwww, she's so cute-ish.
Good stuff. *thumbs up*
