starred in my rock&roll fantasy
Dec. 27th, 2003 12:09 amFor those who dig this sorta thing, my holiday list of stuff.
Parental units thought to give me:
- an overpriced magazine bought simply because it had Aragorn/Frodo [Viggo/Elijah] from RotK on the cover. Nevermind the fact that for the same price, I could see the actual movie. :p But it did have an article on Neil Gaiman and another on Firefly [even if my tolerance for Joss Whedon as a human being slips lower and lower with each fanbase/actress he seems to alienate in favor of another...] so, it wasn't as bad as I feared.
- a necklace that says trust and has this nifty little box charm that opens and closes. Thing is, it looks horrible on me. We're talking... awful. Stupid. Etc. Sigh.
Ari and Derrick gifted to me:
- a gift set thing that has shower gel, lotion, a candle, and a bath poof [poof!] thingie. The jury is still out on the scent because I haven't used it yet.
- the first dvd of an anime that I can't remember the title of. It looks interestingly good though. :)
Spiffy stuff in the mail:
- Lost & Delirious from cole-rox. I. Love. This. Movie. :D [/fangirl love]
- Chance [a copy of] from the loverly T. I love it. I watched it last night and loved it more than I thought I would. Eeeee! Also Tori singles. Hey Jupiter! *purrs and clutches it and hisses at anyone who tries to pry it from her*
And that, my dears, is my holiday haul. I may or may not be getting something on Sunday from Cassandra. She's supposed to make it over here, but she's not all that reliable in the transportation area, so who knows. She swears she bought Mom her missing Harry Potter books though. That's nice of her. :D Plus it means my hinting worked like a charm.
And now for something related but only just barely.
When I was younger, I really wanted some Skipper doll. She had a blue dress and this ugly, ugly, UGLY wig that you could put on and give her blonde hair [to go with her bangs] or not, and she'd have this... reddish hair even though she had these bushy blonde bangs. It was truly bizarre. But I had to have it, you see. But when it came to asking my aunt for it, I must have said something else [or maybe ugly prom skipper came out after I told her. It's possible.] because I ended up with Skipper's shortlived boyfriend. Of course this displeased me, the little brat I was. That and the fact that Mattel couldn't make an interesting boy doll if they tried. And they have. So, my skippers took one look at this idiot and they screamed, "Return him!" ... and so I did. Thing is, my aunt found out shortly afterwards and she gave me hell. Guilted me to hell and back.
I am now almost completely unable to return a gift, even if it's defective, because she did so well with the guilt. Later on I was told how crazy she really is, but the damage is done.
Wheeeee. My feet hurt. *skips off to the Yule Ball*
