I want to call something shirty. Or shifty. Or something like that.
Instead I will tell you a story of the non fiction variety.
I have two friends. They both work for the same company and are sisters. A & C. C is an assistant manager of her store. A is still a minion, but she's also worked for the company [different store] for a few months less than C. Their bosses apparently concocted this test for them to see how much they shared about their respective stores. They had the new district manager go to one store, give a bad review, fuss at Shannon [C's boss] about C, and then had Shannon call A to tell her about it.
New DM then went to Ari's store and lied about going to the other store. When A's boss, Cathy, called Shannon to find out what the fuzzy was going out, she was told it was a test for zee sisters and they failed. She then turned on A and accused her of lying about everything she'd ever said in the past and basically made A feel like shit. I am not to tell C this because it would reinforce the "the sisters gossip" problem.
I'm sure I explained this badly, but the whole thing seems horribly fucked up. It's wrong. Just so fucking wrong that I'm getting pissed for them all over again. The thing is, their bosses will call each other and girl talk about their stores in front of the employees they're badmouthing while making the minions do three times the work they're paid to do.
So I'm thinking Shannon's job was on the line and she decided to deflect the wrath of the company onto someone else.
It's just... wrong. Who the hell does shit like that? It's not like they were trading company secrets. That they do with me, then threatening to kill me if I tell the other. Which I don't. It's about the only kind of secret I remember to keep from the other one. :p
So. Is it just me, or is that all very childishly insane?
