Aug. 20th, 2004 02:04 amOi. I didn't realize I hadn't visited S-H.org in three months. This is going to suck massively going through old stuff. So, I'll skip to the stuff I came for. Y'know, pictures and news. Never really got into the street thing because I ended up smack dab in the middle of Lit territory and, well... not a Lit. :p
Now to kill four hours so I can get my paycheck because the truck has apparently, hopefully, been fixed. So I can get my Delancey, send people stuff [I hope] and... squirrel the rest away for a rainy day. Or cable. One or the other.
I watched some Olympic gymnastic goodness. Thing is, the interesting one [Russian. Anna something or other] was basically passed over by the commentators[Thank Holly for that] and she was the only one to make me say "Wow." I remember watching Carly [USA's last-best hope] and um, I couldn't tell you a damn thing she did. Nada. Zilch. It was all just there. I like my sports with something interesting. Leaps and hops and occasionally spills. The beam is inherintly interesting because most either look scared to death of falling or do fall, or they just go out there and set the thing on fire. Ditto for the bars. The vault has the added advantage of being over in an instant.
*smacks her wrist for peeking into the Worst 10 Minutes... thread* Goddamn. I wasn't insulting the thread title. I was merely saying... something. Like the fact that for me, it wasn't the worst ten minutes cuz I'm not a fan. Or something like that. Oi. Fucking Lits, get all fucking huffy even when you're not attacking them. :p [yes, it was meant to seem over the top there, kay?]
Which is why I mainly peek in on news and pictures. Because otherwise I'm too tempted to go and stir up trouble, or see trouble and bang my head into a wall. But no head banging or trouble. Not tonight!
So. Movies. I'm sure you're dying to know what I thought.
PotC: Jesus, the movie would not end. I kept expecting them to suddenly unfold the plot a little more and extend it just that much longer. Now, this isn't to say I didn't like the movie. I did. Mainly because I think Johnny Depp was fantastic, as were the pairs [the pirate pair and the non-piratey pair]. Orlando Bloom managed to have moments of "So that's why girls think he's hot" followed by "...and yet they see this and think, 'eeeeee!'? Huh." and certain plot points were obvious, yet still entertaining. Kiera proved that she could do more than manage to push her mouth out into painful looking pouts which was a relief, because I saw her in some Daughter of Robin Hood crap and she was horrid. The whole movie was, but when you're in 90% of the scenes, your performance contributes greatly to the suckness factor. Good times. Didn't love it, but I liked it well enough. It was really, really long though. Beautiful movie, I'll give it that.
Bourne Identity: I didn't feel the need to vomit once, though I did pick up a bit of a headache. Also odd to see these things in reverse because I couldn't help comparing them a smidge. Movie was fine, although how the fuzzy did he find her at the end? Just one of those things he does on autopilot?
