widget descending
Sep. 19th, 2005 03:04 amI'm a little bit miserable right now. See, the widget descended upon the house like a very cute plague Saturday afternoon. He came in, we cuddled for a couple of minutes, and I basically said, "I'll see you tomorrow and all will be funtastic?" and he said yes. And for the most part he was right. I came home, had just enough time to mostly peek through LJ and he woke up. We played with his toys and I marveled at how many versions of Cable [the comic character] my brother had aquired over the years. Odd. Annnnd all was grand until around 2pm. You see, by this point I realized I'd been awake since 11pm. I was getting very tired, very grouchy, and he had taken an interest in the mini pullips of doom. Which might not have worried me so if they weren't right next to the Pullips. You break a mini, it's annoying and I might cry, but you break Princi and I'll kill you then mourn you and Princi. See how this works? When I could not work up the energy to move, I sent him to see his father. Or his poppa, which is apparently what he calls my father. [you have to say it with the right widgety accent, or else he hears papa which is, I guess, his father]
And I passed right out. I woke up for dinner and retreated to my room since the Widge and the boy were at the table and I'd been asleep for less than three hours, man. I woke up sometime after 1am, figuring no big deal. But I walk by the boy's room and the light is on and the door is wide open.
I think the widget went home already. This makes me sad. He didn't say goodbye and I see him so rarely. And I didn't say goodbye. ;_; I know it's a little silly, but I was counting on spending a little more time with him today before he went home. Never trust a four year old to tell you the right time of their departure, I guess.
But he didn't say goodbye.
