good news in bill form? weiiiiird.

Yesterday was a surprisingly good day. I think, in the interest of remembering that sometimes good days do happen, I will share.

When I skipped out to get the mail, I noticed that the cable bill had come. I'd forgotten they'd moved the stupid billing dates all around, which doesn't really affect me as much as I thought it would... yet. So I'm looking at the bill and I mutter a very loud, "damn!" when I see the new billing date because naturally it's right before the next payday. :p

... and then I flip it over and see the itemized part and realize that when they had me pay them my spleen last year to get the damn thing turned on in the first place? I got the money back and then some. :D So it's already paid off my bill this month and will next month as well. Hell, if my calculations are correct, it'll make a small dent in the following month as well. Since this is my 'big' monthly bill, it frees up some cash [in theory] for me to put back in my poor battered savings account. Now I just have to make sure no one finds out. Except Mom, since she was there when I was trying to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me.

*dances*

I need to go pay my cell bill now. Then I should gather my library books that I've read so that they can be returned. That should take a good five billion years. Then I need to decide if I want to watch The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants or if I should return it as I shouldn't have bought it in the first place...

[yes, the odds of me actually returning it? Not likely.]

... I nearly died tonight. Normally I say this and then joke, but tonight I'm serious. Nothing fun and completely dramatic, but still, near death is near death I suppose. We were driving to Taco Bell [shut it] for my dinner and some asshole pulled out into our fucking lane. And when I say right into our lane, I mean had my mother not swerved into oncoming traffic, I'd be in the hospital at the very least. As my brain is recovering from that I realize "HOLY FUCK!" Oncoming traffic... and that fucking idiot is still in sight.

Obviously I did not die. Not even a fender bender. Still, another couple of seconds and I'd be all smooshed. Uncool.

Also, tonight's CSI was good enough to catch and keep my attention. I chose CSI over sleep.

Watched The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. Totally useless trivia, but if you bought it, go watch the bus station snippet scene with Carmen on the phone. Operate under the assumption she's calling before she's fleeing the state and then laugh until it hurts.

Seriously. If that's their version of our bus station, I want you to laugh. Because oh.my.lord. Unless Summerville's got a dead-sexy bus station, someone's way off base. [again, assuming this is before Carmen leaves the city] Oh how I laughed. It hurt a little, to be honest. Hurt, I tell you. For I am well aquainted with our piss-poor bus station, having been there on more than one occasion to pick someone up and send them off. If it were that pretty, I'd be tempted to travel. :p

Um, yes. The actual movie was pretty choppy at the begining, but after awhile the scenes were longer than 24 seconds and I admit I cried like a friggin' girl. But wow, what a way to toast the idea of another flick, B. They stripped your angst away that, if memory serves, propelled you through to your next summer of woe.
