NYE: the flashing
Jan. 3rd, 2006 08:04 amNew Years is a time for stupidity to come out to play. Or meloncholy. But for the most part, stupidity was what I got to see. Oddly enough, the first part of the night started out kind of busy and then died until some church got out and then everyone and their brother/sister/mother/grandmother/greatgrandmother appeared. I would just like to say this: If you walk into a store and there are two employees, and one is asking how they may help you, and the other is sitting on the floor, half hidden, working on counting something, do not fucking bother the person not offering to help... assholes.
Halfway into the night, this group of girls comes in. Very, very loud and very, very drunk. I will now be insulting to my own gender, but to hell with it. I can deal with very drunk guys. If you ignore them enough, or give them the look, they eventually shut the fuck up and move on. Girls, in a large enough group, will not. They will continue to try and dazzle you, and when that won't work, they will bitch at you. Girls may be more complex, but they're also infinitely more obnoxious when drunk and in a large group. So, with this in mind, I ran. I was close enough that if I was needed, it wouldn't take six years to appear, but not so close that anyone would think of asking me for help.
So you hear them laugh and talk very loudly, and this one girl keeps screaming, "hey, you can't steal a pizza! You can't stick a pizza under your dress and steal it!" And each time the wording changes just a bit to include the girl's name [first, middle, and last], the kind of pizza... It was vaguely amusing. The next thing I know, I see a flash of light, a bunch of laughter, and an oh my god, I can't believe you just did that. So I walk up to the front and am told when the last of the drunken girls leave [just to go outside to the parking lot] that one of them walked to one of the security cameras and flashed said camera. One of the other girls took a picture of this. They were highly amused.
Yes, flashing the cameras at Walgreens shows you are just that cool.
