I'm close behind
Apr. 11th, 2006 04:35 amI spent the whole friggin' morning, and the early part of the afternoon, cleaning Bob's room. For those who don't recall, Bob in this instance is my desk. My big, three zillion pound desk who looked all dead sexy whenever I conned my father into shelling out the money for him, but I never use because he ends up covered in junk... and I always end up almost blocking that room off with other junk. *shame*
But sometime last week, I got it into my head that all my lost Sweet Valley books [and just about any other] were behind Bob, under the eaves. Which meant moving the behemoth that is Bob. On my own. Oh my god. The room's a junkpile so I had no space to maneuver or anything, because heaven forbid I should actually clean prior to this. Annnnnnyway. I manage to get to the eaves, go through the boxes, and realize that of the 10 boxes in there, five are various trading card games, one is empty, three are nothing but clothes and one is filled with stuff from the office. Luckily I went through that one as well and tada! Found two books, some comic books, and numerous printed emails that I will not re-read as that's just dangerous.
Then I had to move Bob back, and go through all the junk I'd moved around and come across. For whatever reason, I never managed to throw out the old teenybopper mags that I bought for their SG contents [be they Spice Girls, shut!up, or Savage Garden], so if you're some big Hanson, Backstreet Boy, NSync, 98 Degrees, or whatever other people were freakishly teenybopper friendly in '97 or '98, and will now cry if you don't get those old pictures, cry now or forever hold your piece. I never realized how many times you could see the same picture of Leo or the Boy Meets World cast, or Home Improvement boys in one magazine. I felt my braincells die a little yesterday. Then there were the videos to go through, and this and that and after awhile I just started throwing stuff out. :p I'm lazy.
On the other hand, Bob is most clean and so is the room surrounding him. I figure another day or two half assed attempts and he might actually stay that way. Organization and whatnot. I just have to figure out where to put the Fleet [MyScene] where they'll still be on display, but not cat bait. As I sat there, so completely covered in junk and totally unable to work up the will to live or clean, I counted the ones I could see from my spot on the floor. 43, with the knowledge I was missing at least 4 others who'd fallen or were just not visible through the sea of others. Scary.
If you're waiting on pictures of Holly, the doll, they'll appear sometime later today. She's so pretty!
And Holly, as in HMC, is preggers again. Wheeee!
Now I have to go sign things, send them off, and upload the Holly pics.
