...nyargh. Yesterday/lastnight/today all blurred together into one giant suckfest of dramatic proportions. First of all, if you're at all sneaky and stalker-ish, you'll notice the previous entry [again with the birthday love!] was made well before I should have been home. Why?
Because a little after 1AM, two guys came into the store and robbed the place. I know, I know. I should be used to this, right? Wrong. This time there was no cutesy, "I've got a gun but no, I will not show it to you" kind of thing where you could convince yourself that the only immediate danger was being bitchslapped by some strung out ass. Nope, one of the two shorties? Was carrying a big ol' gun. I know nothing about guns, but I figure anything that pretty much requires both hands be on it at all times? Not to be messed with.
I might come back and give the boring details, but I will say that when they herded us to the office, my brain went from screaming "ohshitohshitohshitohshitohshittyshittySHIT!" to "Oh, fuck, we're gonna die." To be fair, my overly theatrical brain had company. The walk to the office consisted of everyone who wasn't me or Mad Madam H dragging their feet so they were closer to the nuts with the gun. :p Obviously, did not die. Didn't get shot or anything. Did get to go home early.
I think my heart is still beating most unnaturally.
It's just not right when you know the drill better than the 911 opperator.
The most annoying and somehow scary part of it all? Had I been able to make the call when I first tried [when they called all the people up front to the front] the police would have shown up during the robbery. And while part of me kicks myself for not managing to make my fingers work faster, another part is thinking, "yeah, or you could be filled with extra holes right now. That would suck."
This was ontop of my inability to sleep at all yesterday. I think I managed to clock in an hour if you strung together all the 15 minutes here, ten minutes there...
The bright shiny part of the day was when the mail arrived. My Let's Go Disco Nolee & Madison arrived. So pretty. Mad's hair is a bit crunchy looking, but otherwise, score! Unfurgettable Chelsea also arrived and she's gorgeous.
Still... twitchy.
