For Christmas, I was gifted with Mistral's Kiss, which is still a disappointing title for a Merry book. I should point out that I still think a certain author should seek true psychiatric help and that I still think she killed her other series, but as I've always liked Merry better than Anita, I read the book.
And unless my sleep deprived mind missed something, we still didn't friggin' end the night from Hades. Time may move differently, but for the love of Holly, two books is plenty to finish out a night. PLENTY. That said, I'm not sure whether it was the months of warning for the first chapter, or whether someone actually hacked it into submission, but my eyes didn't bleed terribly. This minimal pain continued for much of the book, which was a bit of a shock. I missed whatever type/issue bugged Cass, but I do think investing in a character list might be helpful. Who in the blue hell were half those dudes she kept mentioning? I don't know. I don't care. She didn't care and said as much. So...eh? Some dude went and got himself impaled. Insert obvious joke here. They prettied Sholto up and then, I swear, gave the funniest [though unintentionally] visual ever.
After Sholto and Merita get with the boring sex [I feel I know way too much about someone's preferences in the sack] and the magic oozes forth, as was promised so no surprise here, he's got this crown of flowers. For some reason, to add drama to the last 30 pages or so, he starts a wild hunt, and naturally since he's ever so prettiful now, he's the prey. So every so often Merry looks over and sees him running around, nekkid, and in my head it isn't running for your life running. This is more like, "look ma, I'm nakey!" running. With flowers in his hair.
I nearly fell off the bed laughing.
I also hadn't slept in entirely too long, so maybe that had something to do with it. Funny either way. It pains me to know that I love Rhys, but neither of them [LKH/Merry] do, so it's pointless. Woe.
Anyway.

- The Devil Wears Prada, Target's special edition. Not fashionista inclined enough to truly adore the book. Woe is me.

- zee infamous pink sheets

- a calender and matching perfume from ari.
- purple mascara and a $10 BAM gift card from tracy

In other news, I'm having second thoughts about the shoes I ordered to go with zee dress of agony. I figure I'll continue to have these thoughts until the shoes arrive, I fall madly in love with them, and Ari screams, "God no!" Or possibly until I try them on and say god no. It could work either way.
I'm off to munch and watch PoTC:2.
