Aug. 2nd, 2007 06:00 pmBlergh. Spent the entire day in bed. Which sounds good, except for the fact that usually I wake up a little early so I can actually do something, even if it's just finish reading my massive pile of magazines or the book I'm currently plowing through. Nope, today was my sick day, but not necessarily call in sick day. If you're feeling kind [and we know you are] cross your fingers that I manage to avoid the truck today. As in, don't let it show up before 5:45 tomorrow morning. Pleaaaaaaaaaaase? *flutters eyelashes*
'Kay. Finished Buffy S8, #5. The first arc/story/however you wish to look at it kind of left me unimpressed, except by the covers which remain some of the most fantastic things I will ever see. Poster-size 'em and send 'em my way. #5? Was what I miss most about Buffy wrapped in one pretty, shiny comic. That bit of disorientation that propels you through a particularly good episode, making you wonder just what is going on, handing you the information as you need it, and by the end, backing off from full disclosure, but giving you enough to make you feel. Something. Anything.
Naturally, the irony is that there's no Buffy, Willow, Xander, or even Dawn to be found anywhere in zee book, and what familiar faces do pop up don't really do much, so... Love for this issue. Love beyond possible measure, as I'd begun to worry that maybe S8 wasn't working for me.
